Pieces of Joy Landa's artwork (originals of "Fire" and "Starlight Maiden" and an FAA canvas print of "Waterfall Forest Fairy") will be featured at House #3 on the tour. If you love history, architecture, or just amazing homes (as well as art!) you have to come on this tour! The homes are spectacular. Plus a free wine-tasting and chocolate tasting afterwards! Here are the details:
Step back in time as you tour the Victorian gems of the Washington Park Historic District in North Plainfield, New Jersey (on the National Historic Register as the first planned community dating back to the 1870s.) Each of the 10 or so historic homes this year has been chosen for its architectural details, impeccable preservation and cultural significance. Most homes will feature a display of original artwork by local artists. As you stroll the neighborhood by foot or by horse-drawn carriage (included), imagine the romance and elegance of the gentlemen and ladies who created this bucolic setting of stately manors and manicured landscaped lawns.
The tour starts at the historic Church of the Holy Cross in North Plainfield (40 Mercer Avenue). There you will be provided a booklet with a map and directions to each of the homes on the tour. You may choose to walk between homes or ride in our horse-drawn carriage.
At the end of the tour indulge in complimentary wine and chocolate tasting at Super Buy Rite Liquor and Gertrude Hawk Chocolates, both located at 967 Route 22 West, North Plainfield, NJ.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25.00 at the door. A portion of each ticket sold will be donated to Rutgers Dance Marathon.
