PAT HUNTER featured presenter for Kingsburg Arts Center

Pat Hunter, watercolor artist, will be featured at the September 28, 2013, Kingsburg Arts Center presentation in Kingsburg, California, where she will demonstrate her unique style and share her artistic journey. 1490 Lincoln St, Kingsburg, CA 93631 (corner of Draper and Lincoln Streets), Kingsburg, California. The presentation is free to members of the Arts Center and is open to the public at a cost of $5.00 per guest.
Pat Hunter, one of the San Joaquin Valley’s most recognized artists, is particularly known for her watercolor depictions of historical landmarks. Pat and her business partner, Janice Stevens, have co-owned Gallery II in Fresno, California where her work is exhibited. Pat’s paintings have been shown at the Fresno Art Museum and other prestigious locations including Yosemite National Park Art Center where she has been an artist in residence continuously since the early 1990s. Pat has received numerous awards in judged competitions throughout the state as well as the prestigious Society of Western Artists Signature Award. Pat and Janice have collaborated on several books: Fresno’s Architectural Past, Volumes I and II; William Saroyan: Places in Time, Remembering the California Missions and An Artist and a Writer Travel Highway 1 North featuring Pat’s watercolors and Janice’s definitive text.
Her commissioned art is on permanent display in many corporate and private collections, including more than 25 McDonald’s restaurants throughout the United States. She was commissioned by Clovis Unified School District to paint watercolor depictions of Clovis schools for a permanent historical record compiled into a book.
Pat holds a BA and MA in Art from California State University Los Angeles and is an art instructor for Willow International College in Clovis, California. A number of her former students have become professional artists as well as art instructors because of her tutelage.
Pat serves on the Historical Landmarks and Records Commissions, on the board of directors for Heritage Fresno, and has memberships in Fresno Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, Fig Garden Woman’s Club, Fresno City and County Historical Society, SPCA, KVPT and People’s Church.
The Kingsburg Arts Center is an active organization in Kingsburg with a gallery open to the public featuring members ‘art on a two-month rotation. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The gallery is located in the Village Mall, 1332 Draper Street, Kingsburg. Regular presentations by noted artists from the area are featured during the year as well as a juried art show, which runs concurrently with the Kingsburg Swedish Festival each May. New members are always welcome.
