This will be CAO YONG’S LAST SHOW IN NORTH AMERICA THIS YEAR!

"The Return to Liang Jia He, the Crucible that Forges Leadership". Cao Yong, one of the premier oil painting artists in the world, presents the newest addition to one of his series of focusing on contemporary Chinese heritage. This painting depicts the welcoming and inspiring return of President Xi Jinping to Liang Jia He, a village in plateau of northern Shaanxi. This painting centralizes on the genuine excitement and cheerfulness of President Xi's return to the place where he lived for seven years in his youth. The villagers, after forty some years, again welcome and embrace President Xi with open arms. They miss him just as much as him cherishing his attachment to this land. After all, Liang Jia He is the adopted hometown of President Xi, where he bonded with everyone and grew and matured from adolescent to one of the most promising and determined young leaders in modern China.

In the background of the painting, Cao Yong vividly incorporated his artistic rendering and appreciation for the essence of the Chinese countryside and the millions of proud Chinese people who have had peacefully coexisted with the motherland: the majestic mountain range, the millennium-old tree watching over the villagers at the entrance of the village, the donkey dutifully milling, and the puppy basking the morning sun. Even the magpie is singing and hopping in the tree branches. As the ray of sunlight pokes through the mist, everything sprinkles to life. President Xi, his people from northern Shaanxi, and the boisterous joyfulness of this gathering come together like a perfectly scored symphony. Is there anything grander? Is there anything more representative of China and its people's love and passion for life?

Cao Yong: As one of the most well-known and successful living artists, Yong's works can be found in prestigious collections world-wide. Recent noteworthy exhibitions include an installation at Beijing's Great Hall of the People, and a special exhibit in New York's Times Square where three of his paintings were featured on the NASDAQ megatron. In early works, Cao's renderings focused on Tibet and examined themes of life, death and the metaphysical aspects of Tibetan Buddhism. In a later stylistic switch coinciding with his migration to the west, Cao would depict idyllic scenes of landscapes and daily life in many of the charming European locales he found himself in. Snapshots of the mind transferred to canvas.
