Fremont Gallery is proud to present an exhibition of three fabulous women artists, Bonnie Lambert, Kikki Eder and Liz Reday, who, with their bright palettes, take us to the Fauvist style developed in France at the beginning of the 20th century by Henri Matisse and André Derain. The artists who painted in this style were known as \'Les Fauves\' (\'the wild beasts\') a sarcastic title given by the art critic Louis Vauxcelles at the time.
Les Fauves believed that color should be used to express the artist\'s feelings about a subject rather than to simply describe what it looks like. Fauvist painting has the main characteristic of exaggerated color. So it is in this spirit that we showcase this collection of the work of three modern fauvist painters.
