Recent works by seven Greater Bay Area artists who paint together for inspiration and challenge. Harrington Gallery Director Julie Finegan says that this exhibit was initially proposed by the group back in 2014. “They call themselves the “Joules,” a nod to the energy they create when working together.” Member Loralee Chapleau notes: “We paint in bold, unique styles, ranging from impressionism toward abstract expressionism. We paint together regularly out on location, which allows us to share adventure and friendship. This camaraderie, along with our different approaches to painting, allows us to encourage, inspire, and energize each other.”
The artists: Kathy Birdsong (Healdsburg), Loralee Chapleau (Danville), Atilla Cziglenyi (Hayward), Micaela Marsden (Berkeley), Joann McMahon (Berkeley), Kerry Sorenson (San Jose), and Jerrold Turner (Benicia).
