Art Reception “Home Away From Home” Art by Artist Colleen Ward

Artist Colleen Ward will be sharing a collection of photographs from a recent trip to the southwest region of Ireland. Accompanying her photographs will be an array of paintings and mixed media pieces.

Cleveland native, Colleen Ward grew up in Rocky River, Ohio. Colleen’s talents were evident as she was encouraged to pursue her love of art at a very young age. In high school, she explored her interest in oil pastels, acrylic painting and black and white film photography. While in college, her interests broadened to oil painting and mixed media, which required the incorporation of different fabrics, mediums and textures. Her interests broadened in college extending to oil painting and mixed media. All of these endeavors and her love of composition lead her to photography employed at one of the largest portrait studios in Northeast Ohio. Shortly thereafter, Ward launched her own business venture Pinwheel Photography – specializing in weddings and portraits. Ward’s love for photography has also taken her to several places outside of the country with a recent trip to southwest Ireland alongside 10 other photographers from around the world. ”I am very excited to share these photographs with Greater Cleveland”, she says. “In a way it’s bringing a piece of my home back home.”
