In Norman Bean's drawings, the materialistic objective is quite evident. Kandinsky might say that he has faked the 3rd dimension and created a make believe perspective.
In Diane MacGregor's non-objective abstracts there is no intention to re-create reality, just a desire to mix form, color, and rhythm in the viewer's mind.
So if Bean's objective drawings have such intense three dimensional perspective, how come dmac's paintings have so much depth?
you will just have to see for yourself.
