Wind Trails at Sunset

The Critique:

Repeating patterns form leading lines that pull my eye into the landscape. Swirls of sand with different textures create shapes that demand investigation. It's not often we can see the wind - sand dunes present an opportunity to view its intricate mysteries.

I live the warm colors - the opposing textures, the dark tones of the sky. I like that the perspective and cascading shapes give a strong feeling of distance. The lighting enriches color and detail making me want to stay awhile.

What I had learned.

When shooting the dunes I use a very small aperture to increase my depth of field. When details are this rich, I want the viewer to enjoy the same sense of wonder that motivated me to take the shot.
