What Photography Means to Me

People often ask me about my photography - particularly because of my poor vision. "How can you take the pictures you do when you can't even see to drive?" To me, looking over a landscape or sea scape without my camera means its fuzzy to me, its not clear. Its only when I lift the camera to my eye that the picture comes to life. Without that lens to increase my view I go through life missing so much.

That's not acceptable! :-) Sometimes I raise the camera up just to see the scenery and discover how beautiful it is - I don't want to forget it so I press the shutter. Then wait impatiently until I can take it off the camera and see it on the larger screen.

I remember once on a pier looking back at the beach and thinking that had to be a glorious picture - only I couldn't see it and my camera was at home. My dear husband drove me back the next day so i could really see what I was missing. To me it was even more spectacular than I thought it would be because he brought me back but my imagination was rewarded with this picture.

Going through life with fuzzy vision doesn't bother me as much as it did previously, because of my camera. This is what photography means to me.
