A still life fine is an arrangement of inanimate, everyday objects. The subject of a still life has been defined as anything that does not move or is dead. The subject can be natural such as flowers and food. It can be manufactured like books and bottles. Traditionally, some of the objects in a still life had symbolic meaning. For example cut flowers or a piece of decaying fruit symbolized mortality. Today still life object dont necessarily have any symbolism.
