New Expedition Unchartered Waters

Story Opener:
"Embarking New Territory"
After a vision that Sat me up in bed one early January morning. I chatted with my mama about it in full detail. She was on board with the idea and it began!
On December 1, 2013, my stepfather passed away after a struggle with a fast moving lung cancer and even longer struggle with a stroke that caused paralysis on on side of his body.
This took a huge toll on their livelihood and willpower (as you can imagine.) the once thriving woodshop with top-of-the-line equipment and 1950's diner once holding birthday parties for grandkids, pool parties with elaborate BBQ pit cooking, sat dormant with years of cobwebs and negligence .
THIS IS NOT HOW IT SHOULD BE!
On that morning in January, I saw very clearly how it should be and I believe that it was my stepdad speaking to me...
I saw mama and I making woodwork, painting them, crafting, holding classes, birthday parties, all of the similar things done before--but in a business manner. In relaying this to mama, I witnessed hope; a light in my her eyes that I haven't seen in a long time.
I shared this with my aunt, her sister, and she jumped right in and said, "Let 's do it!"
My mom, my aunt and I all have different artistic ideas, but they are the elder and wiser. They made cabbage patch kids, teddy bears, tole painted, wood crafted, ceramics, and traveled the events to sell their work. While we all bring many diverse ideas to the table, we are each learning how to make these all work together. I am looking forward to this new journey with my family and hope to explore new territory in business, crafting, art making and teaching!
This will be the place to display all of our crafts/artwork to our friends and to the public!! The future will present classes -as well as a gallery of our work for purchase.
Some things started on now are : glass crafting through stencil and teddybears.
The master seamstress Kathy & Mama, will do the sewing!
(I will write more on this soon. It's a VERY special project that will touch everyone's heart!)
I know that EVERYTHING happens for a reason, I know without a doubt that my stepdad is watching us (probably smh at our goof ups) but happy to see mama doing what they enjoyed together and being surrounded by her loved ones to help her during this grieving stage.
P.s. I used the table saw for the first time. I was punched in the stomach with a big chunk of wood and learned that I can't be a fashion diva while working the machine...#clumsy
This is the beginning, Excited!!!
