Mine Mine

Just posted a new picture--thanks to my brother-in-law--Eddie for the reference photo. This is a ring-billed gull--a common site near the water. They are interesting feeders. They follow the fishing boats for a handout and you can always find them at McDonald begging for French Fries! If those methods fail and they have to resort to working for their dinner you will see them swoop down, pick up shells, flying high and dropping the shell on a hard surface thus breaking open the shell to expose the meat. If the shell doesn't break open the gull will repeat the process flying higher the second time. My Hub and I watched the process one evening from our dock. And true to the seagulls nature--the gull doing all the work had to fight off the bystander gulls waiting for an easy meal!

Great job of painting it! I love seagulls and love watching their aggressive, intelligent personalities.
