"Lamia 1909" . . . Lamia was a beautiful queen who became mistress of the god Zeus. His jealous wife, Hera, punished Lamia through her offspring. Because of this, Lamia became a demon that devourers children. A favorite in folklore, she was later transformed into vampires, witches, succubi and other bloodsucking female incarnations.
