Greatest Teacher

Greatest Teacher

We typically think about the people that influence us based on positive criteria. For example, the way they treat you and others is a big one. Their accomplishments in life. Their overall zest for life can be a determining factor. What about the people that fall on the opposite side of the spectrum? They definitely influence us, but many times, the thoughts we hold about these people keep us from our own greatness. I say flip it! I say flip the switch on any person who you feel has influenced you in a negative way. These people may very well be the greatest teachers you will ever have in your life if you are willing to see the opportunity in their negativity, anger, or whatever they have "done" to you. The above print says it all. I not only feel this way, but before my father passed away, he heard me say these words to thousands high school students. And you know what? He understood it and knew the meaning of it all. In the end, he died knowing that I loved him through his struggles, and, he loved me through mine!
