Drawing Everyday Keeps You Sharp

I'm studying Wolf anatomy with a goal toward understanding the animal so well that I can draw it without a photo reference. I currently rely on photos I have taken at the local zoo for my paintings, but some of my favorite artists draw on the wealth of information stored in their brains, and hands from countless studies from life, and drawing from life. One such person is animator and artist Aaron Blaise. This is a drawing I did on my tablet, as an exercise, with a software called Sketchbook Pro. I really like drawing on a tablet because it's portable, and I don't need to buy supplies. I have every color available to me, and if I want to draw, I never have to sharpen a pencil. This particular sketch was done with a photo I found online. It's not for sale, so as not to impinge on the rights of the photographer. Also drawing like this, with no particular goal other than to learn is very good for freeing your creativity. I am more likely to try new things when I am not focused on creating a "masterpiece." Art should be fun, and not stifled!
