I love exploring the small towns and back roads of rural Utah. The Salt Lake Valley has become a very crowded place and it's nice to get out into the wide open spaces in the countryside. I suppose that why I enjoy painting rural farmland scenes. This painting is based on a photo I took in Willard, Utah. I started this one with a palette knife underpainting then refined it a bit using the brushes. I often wonder what's at the end of these long rural driveways.
