Walking around my house this morning I was wondering which photo I show choose for my day 4 of the #challengeonnaturephotography ... and I simply had to choose this one.
We have a print of this image up in our house, and although I took it a few years ago, it remains a firm favourite. This photo was taken on a 'meet you halfway around the world' sort-of family holiday in Vail, Colorado. It was our first time to the Colorado Rockies and we were blessed with a week of family fun and amazing skiing. The sort of trip you don't get home and have to recover from! (and we've had plenty of those over the years ... the perils of being expats).
For me, this image sums up the skiing part of this trip - enormous, impossibly blue skies above and near-empty slopes of fresh, dry powder snow below.
My challenge on nature photography is with friend and fellow photographer, Graham Hazelgreaves.
