ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:

Peggy Leyva-Conley resides in Hendersonville, Tennessee a Suburb of Nashville in the Old Hickory Lake area. Peggy has been a member of Monthaven Art Society and Plein Air Artist of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Untitled Artist of Nashville, Tennessee, and has served as former President of The National League of American Pen Women-Nashville Branch and is currently the Treasurer-Webmaster, and Secretary. She is also a member of “United Poets Laureate-World Congress of Poet’s and is a Dame in the “Order of St. Thomas of Acre”, Melbourne, Australia. She is the founder of “Creative Endeavors Art Designs” and sells her work on Printfection.com, “Fine Art America“of her Art, and Photography works online.

Peggy was born in Hollister, California, on the Central Coastal region and is a former member of San Benito Artists, Hollister Art League, and San Benito Historical Society. Peggy has Exhibited her Art Work throughout California, Tennessee and Washington DC. This includes shows held at Hendersonville Public Library, Amber Leaf, Jewel-Weed Design Studio & Mercantile, The Hunt Club and Govan Coffee House in Gallatin, Tennessee, Monthaven Mansion, World Champion Productions Dance Studio, City Hall, Dr. Griffin Office, Wired Coffee Company in Hendersonville, Tennessee, Untitled Artist, East Gallery, Green Hills Library, BB Kings Club, Frisk Center For Visual Arts Museum Nashville, Tennessee and at the National League of American Pen Women-Washington DC headquarters where her Artwork hangs and is on permanent display.

Peggy has Exhibited her Artwork at the San Francisco Art Institute International Show in the Bay Area located in Northern California, and at the Veteran Memorial Building, Teledyne Craft Festival, San Benito High Library Gallery, San Benito County Library Gallery, San Benito County Fair, Joe’s Italian Restaurant, Hollister Elk’s Lodge Wine & Art Show, Don Pedro’s Mexican Restaurant, Autumn Festival-St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Hollister, California and at Gavilan College Art Gallery, Gilroy City Courthouse, in Gilroy, California, Santa Clara County and Centigram Communications Corporation Winter Craft Show in San Jose, California. Peggy specializes in mediums of Acrylic, Oil, Watercolor, Charcoal, Pastels, Graphite and Pencil. The Artist enjoys creating Landscape, Portrait, Still Life, Abstract, Expressionism Paintings and as a Photographer she enjoys filming outdoors while on travels.

EDUCATION:

Peggy graduated from Hollister High in Hollister, California and received an Art Merit Award Scholarship from San Benito Artists, for recognition of Achievement, Character, and High Scholarship. She was taught by Alicia Mayo a University of Mexico graduate in advanced art-forms in mediums of Charcoal, Pencil, Graphite, Pastels and Acrylics. She majored in Business and Art while participating in Art Shows throughout San Benito County, Santa Clara County, and has been Awarded Ribbons for her artwork. She has sold paintings now in private collections. Peggy spent eight years doing Ceramics by hand and Woodwork creating a Coffee Table, Garden Benches, Frames, and Jewelry box. The Artist continued her Art Education in Ceramics under Instructor Clara Chamberlain and in 2003 took private group Classes in Watercolors under Instructor Sylvia Morgan a graduate of Chicago Art Institute. As a Classical Pianist Peggy attended private lessons at the former “Randy Wagner School of Music”, Hollister, California and Piano at Gavilan College, Gilroy, California from Instructor Markham. Peggy has performed on Piano-Vocals her song titled “All of the Colors” live on KKUP 91.5 Radio, in the Bay area in Northern California. Peggy released CD “Passages of Time” a Classical Piano-Instrumentalist in 2010 recorded at Ninja Sound Studio in Hendersonville, Tennessee. As of 2013 she released on the Global Music Industry CD’s “Canterbury Manor” a Classical Piano-Instrumental and “Ancient Garden of Knowledge” and “Midnight Telephone Blues”, “In the Face of Blues”, “Mountain Blues” consisting of Vocals, Guitar and Piano performance in Blues-Folk-Bluegrass music on distribution with CDBaby.com, Amazon.com, UniversalCD.com, Reverbnation.com and others internationally.

Peggy holds a Certificate in CMII-Configuration Management-Engineering from Arizona State University of the Institute of Engineering, Applied Sciences, and received Certifications from Oracle-Sun Microsystems Technical School, Milpitas, California in System-Admin/Solaris-Unix Programming in Computer Science. Peggy has worked over twenty years in the Aerospace and Telecommunications field in Northern California in the high tech industry.

PUBLICATIONS:

As an Author, Peggy has been published in World Jazz News, Tennessee Jazz & Blues Society Incorporated, All Star Access Magazine, National League American Pen Women Magazine, Social Science Research Network, Academia-Education Network, and worked as a former Associate Editor/Columnist for The Delta Snake Blues Magazine, Campbell, California. Peggy also worked for San Juan Bautista Production Company on the Biography of Legendary Bluesman John Lee Hooker with his Author. The Artist has been on MTV Bammy Awards with John Lee Hooker, Actor Fabian and Michael Osborne at the Tubes Studio in San Francisco, California for promoting to help build a museum for the arts. The Author has been published in the Hollister Free-Lance Newspaper, San Benito Magazine, Autumn Festival Publication, Teledyne Times Newspaper, Hollister, California, ADC Telecommunications Publication, San Jose, California, American Poetry Anthologies, and Best New Poets of 1986, 1987, and 1989 for the American Poetry Association, Santa Cruz, California. As a Genealogist in La Familia Ancestral News Publication, Westminster, California, affiliated with Northridge University, Genealogical Hardback books, Periodicals, Newspapers throughout the United States. Peggy is featured on ancestry.com, familysearch.com, rootsweb.com, has traveled extensively on Genealogical expeditions throughout the United States and Mexico. She is currently working on “Nature Calling” – Poetry and Photography Book, Poetic Scapes “Visions and Dreams” and a Cookbook The Clarks-Manning’s of Eastern Tennessee-Appalachian Families of her descendants, and Genealogical history, and a Aromatherapy book.
