Today I went to the Alamo Heights Community Gardens to paint poppies. The poppies at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens are no more, but they are going strong at the AHCG. In October of 2013 I told the AHCG I would plant wildflowers. I planted tons of poppies, larkspur, bluebonnets and other wildflowers from Wild Seed Farms but the drought prevented them from germinating until this year.
I was so excited to see a child cupping a poppy and looking at it. I was painting them today and listening to my music. What a joy!
