Art Marketing and cyberspace

Art Marketing is new to me. I am trying to find out how best to Market my work. I was never, until now, interested in making art my career but, after being terminated/job eliminated for the third time in 5 years I decided now would be the time to test the waters so to speak. I have posted my art on Redbubble, artmajour, fineartamerica, pixels.com, Esty and many others. So far sells are slow. I need to figure out how to get my work out there. I have been well received by those who have seen my work. I just need more exposure. As I researched one of the suggestions was hashtags. Maybe I'm too old and uninformed but I am not sure how to hashtag, what tag do I apply and how does it get out there into cyberspace. This is all new to me. My ex-boss wanted me to get into wordpress, and facebook, twitter, and start promoting his business. I asked a few basic questions about how to do it and he had no real idea and he knew is that was what he had heard was the way to go cheaply. He told me to to get on the internet and learn. So after he fired me because he was not making enough money to pay my salary I decided to really pursuit this avenue, and promote my own business. And so my journey begins. The ironic part is I know I need a following for this to work and you need to start with family and friends as followers but, my family and friends are broke and just as uncomputer savvy as I am.

Here is my video series on how to get started on Twitter. I made this for a small non-profit who also wanted to get going on Twitter and takes about 20 minutes to listen to. I started my account about 18 months ago with nothing and now have 1500 targeted followers. It is a good place to start as you dip your toe into social media. Best of luck and please follow me if you join Twitter. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUv-15vAs5D_kcCEhqO4b-AhLQBKdyVTF

Hi I set up a page on FB., encouraged family, friends to look and like. Then suggested they share my page. Got plenty of " likes " but exhausted itself. I put a tag at the end of my emails asking people to look at my site. FAA is my latest but I find it difficult to get people to view. I thought FAA might encourage visitors to the site but doesn't work like that. Although, millions of people a month look at FAA, it still appears a bit of a lottery. you're not alone. PS like your work.😊
