35k In 35 Days

So who am I to start yet another blog?

Hello. My name is Carol Ann and I am a social media newbie - not a virgin, just a neophyte. I’ve been using email (does that still even count as social media?) since its deployment and have been on Facebook personally and promoting a couple of my small businesses (Passion Art and Blond Monkey Yoga) for a few years now, but rather half-heartedly.

I have set up shell profiles for myself in Google+ and Pinterest, and have just last week started to tweet. I have had my art for sale at www.saatchiart.com/blondmonkeyart and http://nuvango.com/passionart for about a year. This year, I created www.inspiredlifestyles.tel, reserved my domain name www.yourinspiredlifestyle.com, but that’s as far as I’ve gotten, as I’m not yet sure how to go about developing my website and haven’t really looked for someone who I trust who can do it for me.

So, what up?

I am giving myself the challenge of learning as much as I need to about social media to create an income stream in 40 days.

What exactly does that mean? I am attempting to manifest a dependable living (say at least $35k to start) through selling my art (prints, originals, commissions) and ideas online via social media. I’m giving myself 40 days to do it, the amount of time it statistically takes to build a new habit. Since 40 is not a very lucky number numerologically-speaking though, I’m going with 35 days, so …
TO $35K IN 35 DAYS!

I’d actually like to blow the barn doors off that estimate and make $350k but at this point, I’m at a loss as how to manifest that kind of coin using my art. Abundance mindset is clearly another topic to address in a later blog!

So, where I am now? I am the classic mid-career artist. I am a smart (ex-Electrical Engineer), creative painter who is starting her art business pretty much from scratch.

I already have a portfolio of approx. 20-30 good sell-able images, and reasonably positive feedback from friends and family, as well as from random public who have seen my art at various small exhibitions throughout Vancouver. I have a handful of great contacts who have supported me in the past to travel and paint commissioned pieces, a supportive studio space, and interest from businesses to display my work, but not yet purchase it.

So my belief is that my art is good enough and could be selling, and that there are these great online resources available, and that all I need to do is get the two to overlap in a major way.

And what makes me unique? I am a smart, motivated, resourceful researcher who is passionate about making my dreams come true by expressing myself through art, and connecting others through yoga and all the other healing modalities I have been exposed to. I am guided by numerology, the principles of Celestine prophecy, psychic meditation, my dreams, and trust in the benevolence of the Universe.

I want to prove to myself and to perhaps somewhat skeptical friends and family that I can make an enviable lifestyle as an artist (and social media jockey), to record this journey for my own records, to inspire others to follow in my footsteps and to pave the way for them by sharing the tools that worked for me.
