20140816 Sketch of the Day

Couldn't resist sketching this yesterday. This is a bloom on the Rose of Sharon plant at the side of the family summer cottage on Peaks Island, ME. There is a line of them on the Southerly side of the cottage each with a different color bloom. If you could have seen what they looked like 5 years ago or so. Just pitiful little twigs with no blooms. Now, standing nearly 7' tall, their blooms are a harbinger of mid August.
