I had absolutely no inkling that this Great Honor was the reason for Tony's mailing address request.

To be in the same group with all the sensitive, thoughtful, knowledgeable, strongly opinionated (in a good way), truly artistically talented, and vital individuals that have preceded me and those that will follow , to this normally befuddled, recently bewildered and now, to this old coot:.. is Dumbfounding.

No words can really express how I feel.

Thanks, Thanks, Thanks Tony and All those on this thread and to All those on all the other threads I've participated in..

Boy! has this forum kept me going throughout these last few years.!!!

Thanks again

as i type with my left index finger, my right thumb is tactilely reading the engraved signatures of so many great artists. their true individually shines through as the light hits them.

(note; sorry for not capitalizing the appropriate words, that requires 2 index fingers to accomplish)..

i'll post a photo of this wonderful sculpture, once i determined the proper setting for the meantime, i'll try to decipher the meaning, if any, for the lines and indentations on this piece.

Not to be maudlin, but I know I am....this fantastic award is like a warm blanket at this particular time.

Posted by: Jason Christopher on 12/10/2012 - 4:26 PM

Hey Roger Congratulations!!!! and well deserved !!! :-) , as you know this is a firm fav on mine!

I must have missed this post for a few days... I hope this series continues for eternity and beyond!! the coots deserve your guidance and firm mockery and praise!! indeed!! they are hilarous!!

Indentations on your award? obviously meant to be a hammer... repairs maybe ? one point perhaps in its long history nails were nailed and buildings built and art rose to even higher platforms .. er and hopefully its not been used as a weapon ... in which case wipe ya prints off b4 u pass it on ... lol

Posted by: Janine Riley on 12/10/2012 - 5:29 PM

Cheers !

The new base is for signatures Roger. There is no room any more on the main part. So you'll be the first to the new home base!

Posted by: JAXINE Cummins on 12/10/2012 - 5:34 PM

Congrats Roger, Well done!!!!

Posted by: Roger Swezey on 12/11/2012 - 11:16 AM

Proof that Tony and myself weren't playing a hoax on everyone.

And also, this image, will be revisited periodically by me to prove to myself that I did receive this prestigious award .

I so want to hold on to this award for a little while, but by the fact, that I'm living in my niece's living room, there is no place to properly display and show it off.

So, after considering all the truly fine artists out there, I have made a decision on the next recprient, and will be posting the name on a new thread later today

Fits you Roger. And no, it doesn't make you look fat.

Posted by: Ed Meredith on 12/12/2012 - 12:08 PM

Your right Tony, it's a perfect fit and it doesn't make Roger look fat... but Roger, there are other ways to secure your Yarmulke other than tape... +>))
