Ruth, I really like this piece because I can feel the movement. I think it is often difficult to get movement in a piece of art, so this is a successful piece. Also, can feel the rhythm.

Hi everyone...
Time makes it hard to get into the intricacies of comment on each work. The efforts put out to share your talents... from surrealism to photography to natural landscapes are all very profound in their own rights. I applaud everyone and their works. Thank you for sharing them with me.
Here is a photograph that I took recently that I felt tells a story all of it's own. It was Black and White from inception... not converted from color.
Went to each PDF and commented.
Take care...

Hi everyone!
There's some wonderful artwork in this thread and it's heartening to be amongst so many talented individuals. I've decided to focus on monochrome work for the foreseeable future, of which the attached is just one of a series I've been working on. I hope you like it. Keepup the great work everyone! - Dave

Jeff, that Shaded Cafe is FABulous! I would love to be there with a coffee and my Kindle.
Here is my newest work - parts one and two together, tho each half is a separate canvas, and 1 and 2 are each available individually.
My first experiment with palette knife (and spoon as well as a fork), having first masked off some accent lines with thin tape.

I visited two sites in Chiang Mai with an out of town guest this week and have been very inspired. This is my first abstract from our big day on the town. Is it wrong to be wanting her to leave now so I can find the time to explore the potential of the rest of my images?
Kidding (sort of).

11/28/12 A marker and reminder.
I just re-found this discussion. There are artist's works here from wonderful creators that I was unaware of. Great images!

@ Norm
I love the perspective. The power of the church against the sky is wonderful. I would make the stone warmer; either color, detail, or edge, just a bit to get 'more settled and comfortable' in it's setting.

What do you think? No comments on this work but sold prints in the 1st day after publishing. Which is interesting for me. ( Work without comments on FAA I mean. )

Hi Ruth and fellow group members...
What a wide spectrum of art, styles and artists! The group's homepage truly lives up to the description, "a place for all." My name's Olaf, and here are two examples of my art. I love markers & highlighters, all sorts of pens. That's what I used in both 'Ninja Making Toast' and 'Fukuramasu Kogamo Kabuto,"

Hear No Evil & Speak No Evil must be jealous, Joan... because See No Evil has a shot as nice as the one've taken, above. all to his own.

Beuatiful work Jean. I love sunsets and yours has an ethereal quality with the subdued light which subtly projects chill you might feel by standing in the landscape. That, to me makes this work a true piece of art.

Hello Ruth and fellow members! Congratulations for all the activity on the group and for the many beautiful pieces of art. I'd appreciate your critique on my work as well, and your vote if you find it worth it. Best regards

Oh, the picture just appeared. Wonder why my background is yellow and everyone else's is white???
Oh, good grief, now it there twice, and its not yellow anymore. Please have patience with me....!!!!

The yellow background always happens when you post, then it turns white, like when you leave the thread and return to it. ;) And you can edit the second picture by removing the link and then writing "deleted"

Running Out Of Ideas
I was in a state of mind where I couldn't think of anything to paint. While I was waiting for that ‘bulb’ to light up, upon thinking of a great idea, I thought maybe my ‘bulb’ is broke, which led to this conceptual, surrealist painting which conveys the irony of that idea.

Hello,
I will introduce myself with this beautiful picture:
This is from another winter, which was cold and snowy, not wet and rainy as the present. The person on the picture is my daughter, who is walking with her old icelandic mare. The site is a little farm in eastern Norway, near where we live.
King regards,
Hilde

The Nature Of Dreams
A surreal dreamlike scene of a tree flourishing on a floating island. The Nature of Dreams reflects both the mysterious architecture of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that occur subconsciously in the mind while sleeping, and a Utopian world where nature is free from mankind's destruction.
The artwork was made from a series of photographs that were digitally edited and blended together with Photoshop.

My latest, and largest, commission - Bovine Intervention.
This isn't usually the sort of subject I would paint or draw, or even be asked to do, but there is a first for everything and I am very happy with the outcome! I think it has improved and broadened my practice.
'Bovine Intervention:
A commissioned oil painting of a curious cow getting up close and personal with the viewer. This close up point of view allowed me to capture a high level of detail on the cow's nose and face.'

New Artwork: Self Portrait
In my practice I use a variety of mediums to make art and I wanted to create an image that could illustrate this. While experimenting with ways to combine drawing and photography, I created this self portrait which seamlessly unites the two. This artwork is an example of the endless possibilities that art has to offer in our modern digital age.

St. John's School And Chapel - Annaghmore
A commissioned pencil drawing of a small primary school and classic chapel situated in Annaghmore in County Armagh. The drawing was a woman's gift to her husband on his birthday. He attended this school and chapel when he was younger, so he has fond memories and strong connections to both.
