My last thread was hijacked and sent to a page not found.

I have closed instead of fixing so that Support can see it and sort out the person doing the coding on the threads.

So, please add your good news here :))))

If you were the last on the other thread please repeat here :)

An image of this painting will soon be gracing the labels of specialist Italian bakery products in Sydney, Australia. Special thanks to FAA and Google's search engine! When the business owner searched "Ancient Mills", my painting came up on the first page and grabbed his attention.

Wow Therese how proud you must be. I remember the excitement I felt when The committee for Camp Creative (summer school for the arts in Bellingen NSW) asked if the could put my painting on the cover of their brochure which went Australia wide as well as their web page for 2010.

We've also just gotten confirmation about a few more shows accepting our work, bringing our show total over 30. ^_^

Plus the two parts of MANDEM (Moco & Maize) are celebrating our 15th anniversary on May 1st!

Congratulations everyone :)

Yesterday, I learned that I received a grant from the local arts council (Kamloops Arts Council). I am very excited as it will be used towards purchasing art supply kits for local children that are part of a charity that I am working with. We are planning to exhibit some of the pieces the children create with these kits in their own group show next year. Waiting to hear back from the two art supply companies I put donation requests into for this project as well; fingers crossed. This will be so much fun; can't wait to see what the kids come up with and to view their show :)

Edit: Here's a link about the show for those interested: BKR Made With Love Project

I went to the baseball stadium in Baltimore (Orioles Vs Tampa Bay Rays) 6-27-14 and caught my first foul ball! I had my Nikon D600 with a 70-300mm zoom lens in my right hand but I was able to catch the ball with my left hand (jumping to assure the guy next to me didn't steal it from me). I had told myself the night before that if I got a shot at getting a ball, I would use my hat to catch it. All that went out the window during the moment as my little league experience automatically took over. The ball hit the concrete in another section behind me first, and bounced high and into my section with a good deal of spin on it. I couldn't believe it finally happened (1st half of the first inning). Thanks to the Rays Right Fielder, Kevin Kiermaier for the treat.

Now celebrating my 5 year anniversary of being a paid member here at Fine Art America !! Joined on July 4th, 2009 only 3 months after retirement and forming my own business.

It has been a truly enjoyable experience making new friends, learning much about art, and being able to share my work with people all over the world! My sales have increased each year providing me with an additional income to buy new equipment and help pay some of my travel expenses so I can take more photographs.

The creativity and talent found here is amazing and very inspiring !

Many thanks to Sean, Abbie and the entire staff at FAA !!

Beginning tomorrow (Tuesday, July 8) and until July 31, I will be having a solo exhibit "New Jersey Places and Things." at the East Brunswick Public Library. The activities coordinator saw my work here and invited me to do the exhibit. So thanks, FAA for giving me a place to show my work so it can be seen and appreciated by others.

Also this week. Got my first payout from Amazon (Create Space) for royalties on my book "the Quotable Westie" -- took about a year and half to sell enough books to reach the payout threshold.

Still haven't found a better solution for publishing an affordable print on demand photo book. Create Space is really designed more for text and Blurb is so expensive.

Bought the most up to date Canon 70-200 lens and the latest 1.4 tele-extender. Yes the lens is a bit heavy but it focuses extremely fast!! Thinking about also getting the 2x extender. With my Canon 7D (crop factor of 1.6) that would put me in the 500mm range. Yaye!

Re-sharing for those that may have missed it previously. I wasn't even aware that I was listed on the 2014 Toast of Music City Awards Best Local Artist (Visual).

Nice to be nominated and a complete surprise and would be nice if they would let one know they are listed.

If you are so inclined feel free to vote once a day until the 22nd, for Photo Captures by Jeffery under the Best Local Artist (Visual) category.

I have been having a great week...my family and I just returned safely (key word here!) home after a two-week vacation in Scotland and Italy. I have been editing the photos and it's like reliving the trip all over again. So many beautiful images! If I am lucky they will translate into sales, but even if they don't, the experience was priceless. : )
