that's very nice of you....you picked one of my favorites.....to those people who have gone to Haiti on a work team the prayer tree painting seems to be a popular choice. Sold a few of these. Thanks again for the feature :)))
This particular work by Canaan Canny, whose style I like a lot, really made my day when I stumbled upon it earlier. The Steven Spielberg character ET captured the imagination of millions, and Canaan has portrayed that so well.
thanks, natalie! this was a commission....i was inspired by the client who raved about her daughter in law...her love oozed out of every word. interestingly enough, i just recently attended a testimonial dinner for the client to thank her for 23 years of service ot the commmunity...she is also a true aishet chayil!

My pick for today is a Hummingbird shot by Saija Lehtonen. She is probably one of the best HDR landscape photographers that I've seen, but she also has taken some stunning hummingbird and butterfly shots and this is just one example...

Thank you Natalie, for featuring my painting. This is one of those paintings that get started, and then lay unfinished,in your studio. Then suddenly one day, I looked at it ,and knew exactly what to do. After two days it was done !
Hi Natalie...fine choice of our fav. Madalena.

A group of overlooked artists on this 2D site are the many fine 3D sculptors here on FAA... my pick of the day is this fascinating piece by Adam Long,

Natalie, Thank you so much for your very sweet comments about my painting. I myself really like what your work!
I'm embarrassed to say that I don't how these discussions work, so I apologize if my post doesn't end up under our subject.
Thank you, Greg and Madalena for posting your favorite picks! :)

My image pick for today is "My Struggle" by Tony Murray. Tony, you have a wonderful collection of unique sculptures! This pressed mixed metal sculpture represents the struggles we all must go through to meet our success! It's always a pleasure to view your work! :)
I just happened upon this member's blog , to read he's won a major competition in photography, with this image......it would be lovely if more visited his page with congrat's.....what's so amazing to me is that this master photographer never says a word in forum......but produces award-winning images time after time....without kudos here !!!
Natalie, I have spoken with Owen Bell, who is very respected here in Oz especially, and would like to say, v.importantly: Owen's images are not photography after all. He does over 36+ hours work on his tablet to produce these utterly Professional , realistic works of art by hand from scratch...a major achievement, imho....thank you...
Thank You Natalie for including me in this wonderful idea for a gallery. Nice to be chosen by an old days faa friend, and to see so many other old friend's work here. I've been a bit awol from the discussions lately, but now I have many new ( for me) artists whose galleries and work I need to explore.
I've chosen to add to your gallery this piece by Kip Decker that I added to my favorites back in December of 2007, There are so many others I could and might come back and add in the future. I'm hoping this works, it's been awhile since I've posted any work on these pages
My image pick for today is "Portland Head Maine on Cape Elizabeth" by Anne Norskog. Anne, it takes a lot of skill and patience to paint such beautiful lighthouses just using your computer mouse. I've been to Maine many times, and I could live in this one!
Madalena, the whole purpose of this thread was to discover new artists, and to attract people to view the actual works of art. I'm very glad to hear that you are discovering wonderful artists through this thread. Thank you for your support! :)
Theresa Tahara's work is beautiful....thanks for posting it! :)
So many beautiful pieces.....I haven't visited for a few days and it took me a few minutes (several lol) to get through them all as I didn't want to skip any. My pick for today is a wonderful piece of digital art by Fran J. Scott :
My image pick for today is "Heaven And Earth' by Gregory Young. Gregory, this is a fantastic abstract, I like the feel and energy to this piece! I also, want to tell you that you are a great photographer.......I love your photos!
Natalie what a wonderful thread, so many works to follow up on.
My pick is this one. It reminds me so much of a painting my Great Grandfather did and hangs in my old bedroom at my parents home and yes will one day be mine (but not too soon I hope)
Dear Natalie, thank you! I was very surprised and I feel honored.
A medium size company wanted to use my "Ballerina" for their commercial work recently. After I requested for a legal contract, they never contact me back. So, I have to bring the awareness up for pretesting all our copyrights.
If ever there was a case for respecting the canvas, this is the supreme example...all the textures add so much, to this stunningly conceived, finished fine art....it is my forever favourite....enjoy....
Sorry for the delay as I've been traveling for the past 10-12 days and was unaware that you chose "Indigenous Eyecon" as one of your daily favs! Thank you so much for your kindness... you've enhanced and brightened my morning! :) xo Donna

I'm currently staying with a friend for a few days rest as my shoulder is again causing considerable pain. My responses are limited as the connection is slow, which is why I'm not posting an image at this time.
My best wishes to all and congrats to those whose images are featured, so many wonderful works here as always.
Thank you so much for posting my Sanlucar,Spain painting....its my old casa rooftop....a great place for us to have wine and to enjoy the ancient town across the street. I now live on Isla Mujeres Mexico....a very beautiful Caibbean island. Anyone who wishes to facebook me...i have some awesome photos to share.
For the past three minutes I've been saying, "Holy crap, Batman," over and over. All I can say is Karin is truly and honestly one amazing artist. Anyone who wants to continue to dis digital art and artists, go ahead. As long as we have folks like this making art, there's nothing more to be said.
This painting was inspired by "The Red Shoes", which was first introduced to me by my mother. To me The Red Shoes has become a symbol of a career woman who has devoted her life to her job, or made some sacrifice in life. I painted this piece with my love for my mother. I slowly understand her more and more day after day. Happy Mother's Day!
The rest of story behind this painting in the description area of this painting
Those are wonderful Elise, Madalena, all.....here's one I love because it's so colourful and decorative and evokes those dreams of travel.....It really is 'fun' and would suit as a great travel poster...............
