Most Boring Photograph

I was going through an old sd card, and honestly can't figure how I managed to miss the delete button on this one. I can't even remember taking it or why, but by the looks of it the shutter clicked before the focus was set, and it was at 200 ISO. I presume it was taken using available lighting, I'm guessing an overcast day. Anyway I think it may well be in the running for the most boring photograph taken anywhere by anyone.

Here it is in all its unedited glory

At least you have a fan of your work.

I could see it as a book cover. Simple and clean. Just needs text.

Brilliant work, Mark! The muted tones emphasize the mundanity of the modern human condition. The fact that the fan is static- blades at rest - so to speak, perhaps signifies we should all take pause in our never-ending search for perfection in the world. The choice of subject matter was, obviously, key to the theme that we are all, as US-rock band Kansas vocalized, merely "dust in the wind"... etc., etc ad nauseum

;-)

Put a potato next to it and it could sell for a cool million.

2x the value if it was turned on.

I've accidentally taken a few shots of my feet, but I like this one better.

Mark,

Not boring at ALL! If this is your most boring image, you haven't taken enough photos!!! lol! Here's the movie, made from the book "Fans From Hell!"

"The leader of that hellish fan gang, was Fannister, Overlord of the entire group. Most of the time, he would sit there and watch over his crew, BUT late at night, the entire fan gang, would "turn on" and NO tellling what would happen then! Terrifying stuff! And Mark, the so-called owner, was fast asleep, every night this happened, unaware of the danger, just outside his bedroom door!!!"

Impossible, but you captured the blades as if they weren't moving at all..

It does have an understated/retro/nostalgia appeal. With the right matting and framing it could be marketable. You just have to put the right spin on it. Never forget what you have done here. You still have the fan, of course?

They're so good, their back....tell all your fans...:-))

Are there three settings on that fan? Inquiring minds want to know.

Dave....who knows better than to sign this......

Throw some Topaz at it = Contemporary Masterpiece! ;-)

Some very amusing responses here which is good - I needed a laugh today

Yes Ken I still have it in storage somewhere.

It has four settings Dave - from memory they are Ineffective 1, Ineffective 2, Ineffective 3, and Ineffective 4 (off)

LOL, Mark. I have one like that. I use it for white noise at night. My husband is very deaf. I run the fan in the bedroom so I can't hear the tv in the living room. It too has the same settings, but only three of them. You're lucky to have the fourth ineffective setting. Much higher end than mine.

Wendy has the right idea - when in doubt toss on the Topaz Glow filter.
