Jeez, I am glad I hadn't gotten around to doing the update yet

and all those people that depend on cloud based storage -- this should only be a back up and that's it.

I'm with you Lois, I will never buy into the Adobe extortion model.

What I don't understand is how this is even possible. Why does Adobe have rights to even access such an important root level folder?

it is their server, and i guess it must do back ups, but instead of backing it up - it erased it? maybe it moved the file instead of copied it. i never trusted cloud storage anyway. i do wonder how secure these things really are.

Three cheers for be too lazy and untech savvy to have gotten around to trying anything cloudish yet. Of course I say that now, until the tropical moisture makes my back up drives mold over like old bread.

I'm going to have to reread the article after dinner, I was under the impression it's deleting user info on Macs.

Just one of the many reasons I will not use the stupid thing.

The Adobe creative cloud suite isn't entirely cloud based.... I subscribe to it and have both Lightroom and Photoshop physically on my macbook that I can use even without an internet connection..... there are other "cloud" based services that I don't use

Thank god I'm not a MAC petson... :-) usually it's the windows platform affected. .. :-)

Brian,

Cloud is only a marketing term for servers. You downloaded it from the servers to your Mac/PC. You get updates from the servers.
As opposed to getting DVDs.

I pretend there is no cloud because there isn't.

< ~~ is on a Mac, but is also a stubborn, old fashioned, cynical, skeptical old poop. Therefore, not only have I not availed myself of the joy of parting with $10 a month to Adobe, I have also continuously ignored (and sometimes with less good grace than others) the hourly notice that my Mac can't access the Cloud. Poor thing.

BHAHAHAH!!!!

I'm with you, Nola Lee ... move over ... I'll join you on the lazy couch. It's safer over here.
