Most Important Art Of Our Time.

Without a doubt, perhaps the greatest work of all times! " The Shroud of Blinky". Look it up if you are a doubter!

So I looked - "greatest work of all times" is so much "understated" as to make it worthless.

Here is my history with Blinky. Back in 1983 I was walking around the thrift shops in Ventura California. I was in a thrift bookstore and pulled out a book called "Blinky the Friendly Hen". I pushed the book back and continued to look at books for a bit. It sort of hit me all at once and I asked myself "What in the world was that?" I went back and pulled out the book again. Signed and numbered, a true treasure! I paid my $1.25 and have owned the book ever since. It was not till today I heard of "The Shroud of Blinky". Had no idea it had gotten so big over the years!! Truly a master work by Vallance!

That is pretty cool Ronald. Back in the mid 90s I stopped at a garage sale in Pennsylvania. While browsing the tables I picked up a cloth bound book of Renoir's, titled Renoir's Children. A first edition book published in Switzerland of his paintings of children. The thing is that there is text on one side of the page but the illustrations were printed in color on card stock and each pasted into the books. I paid 20 cents. It is not valuable but it is a beautiful depiction of his work.

Ron,

I frequent antique stores, garage sales and markets throughout the year. I absolutely love buying the work of art that "speaks" to me. Isn't that what it is all about? I love having original work from all aspects of life and experience. It is what speaks the truth and it is real.

Love them as well! Found a work a few years back titled "The eye of my Father". It is a strange piece on board made of metal (Copper) and leather. However the most striking thing about it is it has a real glass eye in it. I can't find the artist but wonder if the artist father had a glass eye and if that is the one he had, bit creepy!

Hey one more thing Vallance has done was too hire a medium to summon the spirits of dead art critics so they could review his work.

I think I will have to market my latest works of art - "The Rags of Andy".
These black and white masterpieces are developed whilst I work on cars.
I use a selection of square white rags for wiping my hands - after some time they become wonderful monochromatic abstract masterpieces.

Go for it Andy, you never know!

I will after I have found a way to attenuate the oily smell. I think then they will be more saleable.

I can think of some wonderful organic abstracts on toilet paper, using pigments from my own bowels.

What deeply meaningful and intensely philosophical pieces they could be.

Robert, will you be selling prints or just originals?

I suspected I would be sorry if I read this thread.

Robert: Thank you for granting that sense of certainty that I am now, in fact, definitely sorry I read this thread. Have fun with your organic abstracts, if they have deepness to them, I really don't want to know.

Ronald: What ever inspired you to ask, were you interested in acquiring one?

'Bye y'all.

Cheryl, just wondering what his plans are for moving his art.

OMG I can't believe I'm still reading this. I have nobody to blame but myself.

Vegetables might add some extra color and texture.

Yep, I already regret that one...

That's so two days ago. NOW what is the most important art of our time?

Fecal fractals are all the rage these days.
Personally I think they look like crap.

Andy PYRAH

I think they show a lot of movement.

Ron...a real glass eye...now that was a find! The title made me a bit queasy after you said it had a real eye. Just as you wonder about the artist and the "eye", I always wonder about the artist who may have created the works I have bought. I always wonder if they thought their work would ever end up in a dusty corner, waiting to be discovered.

I use to work in an antique store from time to time in Southern California. I was off to college in Missouri and I came back for winter break. Anyway the owner was very anxious for me to see his new decoration in his bathroom. When I went in there I came face to face with me. He had found a self portrait I had done a few years prior in a thrift store in Santa Barbara. Purchased it and put in over the toilet in his shop! You can never tell where your art may end up!

Anne Rickard

Ron, now that is a great story...lol ....and your self portrait no less!

Robert,

Signing toilet paper is hard to do, said from experience.
