Does An Email Marketing Campaign Work?

I am considering creating email lists and submitting them to promote specific images. Does anyone have experience doing this with fineartamerica or with another venue? Thanks...

never worked for me, but you have to use an outside source for it. FAA - their mail is usually considered spam and is erased before anyone see's it.

Has anyone had experience, good or bad, with Mail Chimp?

Depends where the email list is sourced. From people who ask to be informed of your latest releases? Or random people who will just toss it in their spam filter?

....

MailChimp is always recommended by lots of people. No experience myself but that's what I would use.

Bill, I use Mailchimp and I love it. I send out newsletters quarterly. They have drag and drop templates or you can code your own email in HTML and upload it. They give you subscribe buttons for your website and good analysis of both your mailing list participants and the hits/clicks/opens on your email campaigns.

I think the free version is limited to 2000 total subscribers and 12k emails a month. Give it a try!

Oh, and email works for me. As I said, quarterly updates with new images being the primary focus and then I highlight some products, news/events and occasionally will offer a coupon or other deal. I always see a spike in social media follows, and I usually see a spike in sales.

Mike! Not all our mail is considered spam! Most isn't. What is, is a small percentage of all the mails sent out. Out of every few thousand sent out only in the tens don't get to the recipient

You must have an email list to prospective buyers or admirers for it to work. I don't know anyone and I don't even have a list of past buyers. I only have 5 people on my regular email list - of them - I might email one a month.

i can only speak from experience, and bit by bit, a lot of is removed. i'd say a good 75%. in a mail list i only get a 50% open rate.

Mike - The open rate refers to images.

Many people read their e-mails but don't always display the images in them.

If an image isn't called (opened), the (open rate) stats counter can't be clocked.
