Images Not Showing Up In Search

I'm a relative newcomer here, so it could be something I'm doing wrong, but I've noticed that certain shots on my page are not showing up when you search for them. As an example, some photos I have titled 'Blue Ivory Flame' and 'Green Ivory Flame', do not show up when you do a title search for them.

Also, I've noticed that I get very few people looking at my page - is there a way of making your profile page more visible?

Any advice as to why this is happening would be much appreciated.

Are your titles as keywords? Unless they search by title (which they can), they are searching for the keywords when they search. If you want your images to come up as the title when you search by keyword, you must include the title in the keywords.

You make your page more visible by promoting it yourself, either with advertising, social media, or general hard work. The search is sorted by sales, so its kinda a chicken and egg thing. Gotta have sale to get views, gotta have views to get sales.

Also it takes 24 hours for the search to update.

If you are a new member, you have to wait for a day or 12 hours. I forget how long but you can search your images tomorrow.

the titles aren't searchable unless you show that option when searching.
if your keywords don't list that exact phrase it may not load
it takes 24 hours to be found.
the search is set up so the sellers are seen first

Hello

There are a few reasons images are not found in the search of the site;

They have not been up for over 24 hours
They are safe filtered
They are not under the exact keyword you are searching for
They are beyond the 2500 images we show in each search filter
They are in a passworded gallery

Make sure to use unique keywords that fit you images and if you are not found under the general ones that have thousands and thousands of results you will then be found under the unique ones. eg if a flower, Flower is very overused so make sure to use the Latin name also

Use a site like http://microstockgroup.com/tools/keyword.php to find new and better keywords

If looking for you by name or title remember to use the drop down on the search to change it to ARTIST or TITLE instead of KEYWORD and you must have had a profile image (headshot) up for at least 24 hours

Hope this helps

Thanks for your responses folks.

Some of my pics have been up for less than 24 hours, so them not appearing makes sense. However, some of the pics in question have been up for about 3 months+ and don't show up - notably the Ivory Flame images I mentioned.

Dave, you have some pretty common words there that you are searching so when it is indexed dont expect to find it very high up in the search. If it does, congrats...well done. I am here six months and I have an item that your post has just prompted me to search on FAA.... The word moonset is probably not as common as the words you are searching. Still, I found my item on page 15 of the FAA search...the 505th item out of a total of 944 with that work in the keywords. Not good. When I search google for the word moonset, forgit it..page 5 trillion no doubt. But if i search for moonset newwwman, then i come up on first page at google (albeit not at my website but at the faa site)....better than nothing but if someone is searching, they would never search that word AND my artists name, otherwise they would already be at my site searching it. So good luck..there are a lot of images out there...

Try putting Green Ivory Flame between the commas.

Also, you could have more keywords on there as well. While you have red hair, you don't have redhead and red head. The way the search works is it looks for exact matches of the keywords typed. It should still come up if the individual words are there but will favor the images with an exact match.

If it were me I might tag those images like this

red hair
redhead
red head
nude redhead
artistic nude redhead
......

Etc etc
