Photo Rendered As Painting - Category?

Some of my photos end up looking like prints of paintings after post processing. Do I still categorize them as photos? I suppose so since that was their origin. And what about a piece that is an amalgam of a photo layered with a painting?

keep it simple and call it a digital painting and nothing more. this thread topic starts huge long winded threads btw.

If it is a photograph that you did nothing to digitally enhance to make it look like a painting, it seems to me that it is still a photograph.

If you are talking about the pic in the OP. That looks like a photograph to me.

On the other hand I think way to much is made out of the "medium" box here.

I have sold tens of thousand of prints on 11 other sites. The question has never come up in over 20 years.

David, I just looked at some of your other images. The do look like paintings. lol

FAA needs to make a decision and tell us what they want us to call these things.

In one of the other threads every suggestion that was put forth was challenged by some one. Kind of n if you do and damned if don't.

It is a photo and under medium it is camera or digital art or digital painting
