New Aerial Photography, Uav Drones And Quadcopter Website, I Need Your Feed Back Please.

As if I didn't have enough things to do. I recently purchased a new inexpensive drone and I have not been able to put it down it's so much fun and I actually took some high flying video in know time at all. I like this so much I want into this business, so without going crazy I just plunged right in! Here is my first owned by me website which will be promoting some of the top drones and aerial photography equipment in the industry.

The site is fully operational but please don't take your wallets out just yet as I have to code all my links, otherwise I don't get paid. Lol

I am very interested in your first impression of the site. Thanks in advance!

I was confused only because I thought it was going to be a site with only your work (videos) on it.

Homepage was very plain.

Gee......all this sounds negative and I don't mean for it to be!

I am not a fan of drones.

I have to be a party pooper on this one, because I currently view mass-market drones as potentially big annoying insects for which I will have to purchase big-annoying-insect fly swatters.

Create a website for big-annoying-insect flyswatters, and I will be your first customer, ... AFTER I order some more of your vanilla bean extract. (^_^)

I'm going to the drone show in the UK on Saturday.I've had one for a year and they add such a new perspective on your photography.
Robert,if you get annoyed by a drone it's the flyer that you should swat as they shouldn't fly it near buildings or people. As usual though some of them will not worry about rules ,safety and other people and get everyone a bad name.

Kathy, I respect honest first impressions, after all that's what I asked for.

Robert, I might add a category in very tiny print for big-annoying-insect flyswatters just to make the sale. Lol

Roy, would love to hear back from you after you return from the drone show and tell me what's the latest BUZZZ in the crowds regarding drones?

Kathy, when my drone videos come out this good, I just might be inclined to share them here, for the time being though I'm happy sharing videos like this one.

I think these beautiful videos that drones make possible to shoot far out weigh so many of the negatives that people associate with drones and their uses.

My first impression of your site? WOW WOW Great job!!! Wish I had some discretionary income for drones/cams!!

Would be great to get video/shots of canyons and the like in some of the national parks of the Western US, as well as animal life in remote, dangerous regions. (I'm dreaming.)

Good luck with your site, Mario!!

Mario Carta

Thank you Sarah! My thoughts exactly having access to high up rugged terrain to take aerial video and photos is about as adventurist as it gets, it's good to dream, first we dream it then we do it.

My next philosophical essay: Guns And Drones: How Supporting Arguments For One Can Serve To Support Arguments For The Other

The benefits of guns far outweigh the negatives. ... Guns don't kill; ... people do. ...Drones don't annoy; ... people do. (Okay, if you say so.) ... [Uh oh, you are getting precariously close to a reprimand from the moderator, young man. Back off!]

LOL! Robert, I'll agree it's always about the people, we can create all kinds of laws but can we really outlaw crazy, stupid, ignorance and just plain evil people? I don't think so, so we should not take it out on inanimate objects and outlaw those.

Kathy don't hold your breath, I was out flying my training drone just a little while ago, I wanted to post a video here of what was going to be my longest, highest and smoothest flight, every thing was going great, everything clicked and I knew I had captured the best shots to date, the huge power lines and way beyond any tree lines. Then in an instant the unthinkable occurred, a strong wind draft coupled with a low battery indicator and my drone shot up to past 500 meters when it's range is only 300 meters max., I experienced my first most dreadful fly away! I searched the area and was unable to locate it. Lucky for me this was a cheap $90. drone which I purchased to learn to fly it.

I'm a little disappointed but I learned so much from this experience and in these past 5 days of flying it that I know what features my next one has to have. Overall the experience was well worth more than the cost of this drone and camera.

Ok, so I did manage to get this test clip the other day when I first tried the video camera, not my best flight I confess but I have been getting much better at the crash landings as you will see.

The bottom line is this whole exercise has helped me discover something new to pursue, I managed to launch a functional website that has the potential to sell very expensive drones and camera equipment, so I think all things considered it has been a huge success. Now it's time to dream about that next new drone to get, it will have GPS, and it will be programmed to return home! Lol

Here is my first flight video, I am self taught so don't expect much.

Mario - In the 05 video, am I seeing a forehead and two eyes in the grass at :36????

Mario Carta

Sure looks like it Sarah, lol. But it's not me, I dodged the drone pretty good as it was coming for me and it missed me.

Mario Carta

Here are a few videos that made my fly away misfortune seem trivial in comparison, and now I'm over it. Lol

Mario,
You made me smile with these.....and I downright laughed out loud at the upside down landings. Honest, I was not laughing AT you, but remember I had read your back story first so I was "waiting for it" and knew there was no harm done
So sorry you lost your drone and all the footage from it.
Kathy

Mario Carta

Kathy, your not laughing alone, I laughed too, it's the best medicine, now if I lost a $850. or $4,000. or $15,000. drone it would be a different emotion I'd be sharing here for sure. I'm actually happy now it happened with a $90 drone. Lol

Robert Kernodle

... can we really outlaw crazy, stupid, ignorance and just plain evil people?

Of course not, but we can limit the supply of toys used to APPLY crazy, stupid, ignorance and just plain evil, when we can foresee an obvious new tool for them.

Off to design my new website for drone swatters. Hey, YOUR website might put MY website in business!

Every marketable evil begets a marketable good. Alcohol begets alcoholic counselors. High impact aerobics begets orthopedic-specialist growth to treat the new onslaught of injuries. Illegal drugs begets increased employment of law enforcers.

Drones beget drone swatters and resultant increase in lawyer employment to mitigate conflicts.

Yours truly again,

Sorry to hear about your crash. I think it would be interesting to affix a camera to a homing pigeon and see what turns out. Not sure the bird would like it, though.

Mario Carta

Patricia, that's Ok, now I have a reason to upgrade to a better drone, maybe. I just might need a few more disposables to get my crashes and fly away's behind me before I spend the big money.

Hmmmmm, camera on a homing pigeon, might be pushing it, but might be more reliable in coming back home. Lol

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

To all members I would like to inform you that I have been asked several times now to make the following post or risk having this thread shut down, this is not coming from administration, all though I have been assured administration is aware. I have been asked to do the following. To be clear I am complying with request #2 to see if we can keep this thread open, wish me luck. And as further requested, to be clear, I INSIST, I INSIST, I INSIST YOU COMPLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#1. CLOSE this thread down or

#2. limit the subject being discussed. (rather then explain option #2. I am stating it word for word rather than trying to interpret it on my own:

I am only asking you to do this:

Post a statement on your thread insisting that those commenting keep within the bounds of offering feedback for your website, and restrict their comments to reviewing and or critiquing the various UAV drones, and quad-coprters.
And insist that if they wish to discuss safety, and regulations regarding such aircraft, they do so on the “Our Crowed Skies” thread.

It is a simple---and I believe fair---request. One which I believe will avoid unnecessary redundancy.

Walter Holland

Thank you very much, Mario.

For those that are not aware, it was me that opened a thread regarding drone's over a year ago.

In the interest of avoiding redundancy I asked, Mario to limit the scope of his thread so as not to conflict with my own.

I will provide a link to my thread below for those that are not aware of it, and may wish to engage in the long going discussion.

Meanwhile, I will be happy to soon have a look at Mario's website. I too---for a long time---considered buying a quad-copter with video capabilities. So far I have delayed my purchase....waiting for the prices to fall, and the capabilities to rise.

I am happy that we were able to resolve this issue with amicability.

Thank you again, sir.

Here is the link to my thread.

No problem Walter. Our skies might be crowded according to FAA but not our faa forum. Lol

Mario Carta

Here is some thing really cool with drones and 360 video, watch in full screen and play with the round tab button on the screen for the special effect!

Robert Kernodle

So, any topic creator can now be a moderator. ... I would call that a pretty crowding proposition.

Please limit your comments to discussing only the propellers of quad copters, since I intend to open a thread about quad copter cameras.

And within THAT thread, do not, under any circumstances, even think about typing the word, "crowded", as this word has already been used in a topic title concerning mechanical flying devices.

I expect each and every one of you to comply with these few simple directives.

Mario Carta

Robert, I understand your concern this is more complex of a legalistic issue than drone regulation itself. Lol

Mike Savad

i'm adding this to both these drone threads.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-3336366/Horrific-picture-shows-toddler-left-blind-one-eye-drone-propeller-sliced-eyeball-half.html

if this article doesn't convince people how dangerous these things are - nothing will

a neighbor using his drone for the first time, had it in the air for maybe 60 seconds, then it hit a tree, then it toppled down, only the spinning rotors hit an 18month year old in the eye - cutting it in half and blinding him. doctors could not save the child's eye - so now that kid will be blind in one side because people think these are toys.

later in the article the spoke about an RC helicopter that a guy was playing with in his room, instead of outside. he hit the joystick wrong and it went up into his face, cutting a 6" line up his face, blinding him as well.

we will see a lot more of these very soon.

WARNING!!!!!!!!WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mike that is not an allowed point of discussion in this thread, it clearly violates rule #2 above which limits the allowed parameters of discussion in this thread, please govern your self accordingly, as posting the same comment more than once can also be considered spam. lol

Mike Savad

what are you talking about?

---Mike Savad
http://www.MikeSavad.com

Mario Carta

We are not allowed to talk about drone regulation or safety in this thread Mike, read above, the scope of this thread is more limited than the crowded skies thread since it has been running longer. Rule is below, I don't make or enforce the rules.

"Post a statement on your thread insisting that those commenting keep within the bounds of offering feedback for your website, and restrict their comments to reviewing and or critiquing the various UAV drones, and quad-coprters.
And insist that if they wish to discuss safety, and regulations regarding such aircraft, they do so on the “Our Crowed Skies” thread.

It is a simple---and I believe fair---request. One which I believe will avoid unnecessary redundancy."

these of course, are not my words, but I would not like to see my thread closed for non compliance.

Good advice! Be a part of it. We are already a part of nature. Society and our lifestyles, however, cause us to forget or ignore that (In My Humble Opinion).

Obviously I am generalizing. Some people never forget that we are part of nature.

Mario Carta

So True Kathy! Here is another amazing drone video, this is what drones were meant for.

Kathy K McClellan

WOW! Thanks for posting Mario.

These videos really make me want to be able to fly. LOL

No hoverboard/kite/jetpack....just soar like the birds!

What a beautiful perspective of our planet.

Mario Carta

It's so awesome, and just think, if it weren't for drones we would not have the opportunity to see it this way unless we had access to a helicopter or airplane.

Jane Schnetlage

If you are going to purchase another drone, it might be a good idea to purchase some sort of lo-jac or locating device to attach to the drone to help you track it down if you lose it again. There are several choices available and some are very small and light. Some work off your i-phone.

Mario Carta

Jane, that's a for sure, first it must have GPS and that one touch button "Called, Come Home" other wise this could become a very expensive hobby no doubt. I would also opt for maximum flight time, some thing that drastically increases the price of the unit, but I'm sure with time this will improve.

I did not see this when first posted. The site it self looks cool, but busy. I don't know where I should click first. Is this just strictly a sales portal or are you planning on making it more? I could see this as the start of some sort of online magazine.

Mario Carta

Thanks for visiting the site Chuck, it is basically a sales portal for all the major brands and newest drones from the the $50 hobby ones to the professional models into the thousands of dollars, it's also an aggregator site so new content is uploaded daily with the latest on the drone industry news in the the blog, the site looks busy but once you familiarize yourself with it it's really easy to navigate, the menu tabs along the top has the drones categorized by the brand names.
