Print Size And Overall Size

Quick questions here. I tried searching and found one topic with an answer but it still left me with more questions. I apologize if I am missing something. I just sold my first print on here to a friend. When looking over the options for what size would be best. We chose the smallest size because it said Image: 6.00" x 8.00" Overall:8.00" x 10.00." I was under the impression this would be a 6x8 image on 8x10 paper and would work with an 8x10 frame without needing to matte it. When I looked at the sale page it said 6x8 for both image and overall. The other thread I found on this subject said they only give a 1" border so now I am lead to believe my friend will receive a 6x8 print on a 7x9 piece of paper? Is this correct? Why is it not more clear? Thanks for the help and I'm sorry if this has been covered to death.

One inch border - yes - on all sides. The overall dimensions that are shown are the total size of what you are buying. If you are buying a framed print, then it includes the mat/frame. If you are buying a plain paper print, then it includes a 1" border all the way around. So a total of 2" more in width and height.

I suppose you could frame an 6x8 with the white border as the overall size would be standard, but if it's directly behind the glass, that's a risk that the print will eventually adhere to the glass without a mat.

For me, that's pretty clear but it really depends on your ability to visualize it. An illustration would help that particular FAQ immensely.

That FAQ page makes a little more sense. So on the order page for a print where it says image 6x8 and overall 8x10 are true then? Even if the sale screen says otherwise?
