I do appreciate the free shipping. Wish I could say I'd had any sales, but unfortunately, my work doesn't sell here. I've been sick with a really bad cold this weekend too so it was difficult to promote it, although I did manage to tweet and post to FB a couple of times. I only wish I'd had enough money to purchase some of my own work with the free shipping offer. Maybe next year if it happens again I'll be in a better position to take advantage of it. Congratulations to those of you with sales!

What I learned from this:

I tweeted, posted on my personal Facebook page and also my business page. Posted updates periodically. Sent out emails by email campaign. Nothing. The crickets were chirping in the silence.

I knew of someone who had expressed an interest in my photos and I noticed that person had not commented, or even 'liked' the announcements on FB.

I decided to personally send that person a private message asking them if they had noticed the posts regarding free S&H. They had not even noticed them! This morning I woke up to the wonderful news they had purchased two prints..one of which was 24 x 18 print!

So lesson learned. Don't assume anything. If you think you have a lead...follow it up!

Eight sales from Friday through Monday and I purchased a t-shirt for a Christmas gift. I marketed like crazy on Facebook, sent out an e-mail campaign and few personal e-mails and telephone calls.

My sales, however came from personal contact like Karen's. People who wanted to purchase but were on the fence. The free shipping tipped the scales and they all made purchases over the week end.

Karen...I always go through my emails and messages on Facebook whenever there is a sale and offer it to people who showed interest but didn't buy. About half the time they buy with the sale!

I do very well on here during the year...I'm a networking guru (6 blogs, 3 facebook accounts,3 websites,Google+,etc. etc. etc., and I promoted more than usual this past week, even paid for advertising...and I didn't sell anything promoting the free shipping. Frustrating to say the least, especially with all the effort I've put in!

Certainly the free S&H made a huge difference, especially to the client who purchased two items. However, I did get a sale the next day too, when the free S&H was finished! Added bonus.

Will definitely be more pro-active if FAA offers this again

Could this be part of the ongoing business model?
Artists and photographers need a venue for reasonable priced prints and shipping is a large
extra cost.

I sold one but am happy about that!!!
