Request For Updates And Would Like To See Features On Faa

I'm afraid we do not give out 'what's coming' news. I'm sorry. There are a few updates in the works but I cannot discuss them.

As far as I'm aware nothing is changing with file types and sizes however.

I also have a suggestion for new functionality: enable artists to embed a virtual 3D gallery in their artist website.

Recently I have upgraded my own website (janhillov.com) and added a virtual 3D gallery to present my artwork in a more realistic, three-dimensional setting than is possible today with FAA. I now have a virtual gallery where I can curate and manage exhibitions and share them with the world. I’m now even able to show my gallery, full screen on my iPhone, wherever I am.

I thought it might be worthwhile to share this with the FAA community. Searching in this forum on ‘virtual gallery’ I found a few posts, but all of years back, so that is why I now share it here.

I believe it would be a valuable expansion to Fine Art America, if it would be possible to integrate such a gallery in the FAA artist websites, but unfortunately, any attempt to reach one of the FAA people failed so far (helpdesk, Facebook, letter to the CEO) so far.

As an fyi, I tried to launch your page but it did not display on my phone. I have android and was finally able to see a photo but it was distorted and took forever

To Travel Pics: just have a look at the site mentioned, and you will see what I mean. A virtual (as if it were real) gallery where it looks like you're in a real three dimensional gallery, with artwork hanging on the walls, and using the mouse or keys, you can do as if you were walking around... To Dave: it will take some time, as it loads all the data first. On a PC it works the same but then without needing an app.

Hm...perhaps commissions box for artists who does commissions online where people who want to buy art can do ask for such a thing, or something like that.

I looked at the site Jan, and that's why I didn't get it.

Travel Pics, when following the instructions 'how to move´, you will see that you can 'virtually' walk through the room, using the mouse and keyboard.

Big killer! Webpages that take too long to load. I give them about three seconds, maybe four and I am gone.

Please Sean, do not do that to us!!

To many horns and whistles is the number one problem with huge percentage of web pages.

Keep it simple is a much better way to go.

Have to admit that, even here, and I work here, if the pages start a go slow I go somewhere else. I only come back because I do work here.

The wording “it will take some time” was not very well chosen. On my iPhone it takes three seconds to load completely; in that time you get a short message about the 3D gallery, followed by a description of the artwork presented.

But I’d rather focus on the great opportunities for artists. Just visit their website (exhibbit.com) and see for yourself, visit a few galleries and read what other artist say and compare this with the two-dimensional images on most web sites, including FAA galleries.

Would love to be able to customize my sales sheets. For example, I do not have greeting cards for all of my images, it would be nice if I could replace that field with another choice such as "metal prints" etc. It just looks negative to have "not available" on the sheet. Thanks!
