this version is good because it looks gender neutral so may have broader appeal...imo

Thanks everyone! And I think you're right, Floyd. Yesterday, I got some advice from my friends at TalkGraphics about how to give my t-shirt designs that "distressed" (faded) look. So I think I'll follow your advice and offer both a "bold" version and a "cool fade" version, to begin with. I'm also going to look into adding background to my designs, so that they'll look better as posters. I appreciate the feedback, everyone, it's helping a lot. :)
