This is very old and done as a project while in HS. We were to pick a medium, study book(s) about it, and then try and create it our own composition in that medium and style. I selected Cubism. I had no previous knowledge of the subject but gave it my best shot. Nothing I did however, pleased my teacher. I was extremely shy and introverted but after a while, my frustrated anger with his negative comments became written on my face as I decided to do what the hell I wanted with it. I think my expression and demeanor warded off my teacher as he must have sensed he had gone as far as he could. He never offered another criticism to me, negative or otherwise during the project! At the time, I modestly thought myself having fairly decent artistic skill but I never got above a B in his class.
Much more recently, after studying 3D stereo photography and creating my own technique of converting images from 2D to 3D stereo, I converted a 2D image of the painting to 3D stereo. It will REALLY appear abstract without the required Red/Cyan filtered 3D glasses for viewing the image to perceive depth. 3D glasses are inexpensive and may be obtained online. I recommend, Rainbow Symphony, or American Paper Optics...
