How Does This Happen?

I have seen this several times in the past but never made note of it. I swore the next time I seen it I would share it in the threads just because I find it interesting

On the recently sold page a few minutes ago there was and still may be an image with the title of New Upload. I was uploaded 11th of October of 2015. It only has a total of 6 views.

It has zero likes, favorites or comments and no features. It has no description and no tags or keywords what so ever. And no keywords what so ever and the artist only has 8 total images.

None of the views come from the artist's home town but that does no eliminate a self or family purchase.

Just thought it was interesting.

It is more than likely a visitor upload but did not know they showed on the recently uploaded page.

It means the uploader ordered it, OR was uploaded with a client waiting to buy it.

The sold to a customer in lists the billing address, AND logged in views don't show. eg If I uploaded something and then bought it my view wouldn't show at all.

LOL!

And I bet that is going to stand as the best and most accurate answer of the thread!

I sent the artist an email and asked why there are no titles, keywords or descriptions. I am guessing they have just not gotten around to it yet.

There was no bio either. The 8 images are very, very good! Fantastic actually.

I have seen several photos (snapshots) like you've described...and I don't know for sure but I suspect they are shots intended for a particular buyer (commissioned) rather than art for the general public.

What's incredible is that there's 4 pages of images titled "new upload"

And that will show up on the recently sold page?

Well, I guess that answers another one of the mysteries under the heading of "nice to know but not need to know and absolutely no value in knowing what so ever".

My head if full of junk like that.... lol

I sometimes create a custom listing that I DO NOT want in search...I only leave it up until the customer buys and FAA has shipped it. It might be a duplicate of an image that they wanted square for instance, so I crop it and list for them. I do not fill in any of the blanks and it wouldnt have any views. I don't promote it. But the buyer buys it.

I always assume it's people buying their own work.

That's what I need to do with my POD here in BC, for BC, Canadian clients. I can only keep 12 images on my page, so if a customer wants something, I need to upload it, they buy it and I take it down afterwards.

btw, I first send them to my AW here on FAA to make their choice....then they email me with their order. I wish I didn't have to do it, but shipping and duty is often the deciding factor to get the sale.

Cheers, Barbara

they could be buying it themselves. they could be really fantastic at selling. pure luck. the views don't matter, and even the amount doesn't matter if they had the thing that they wanted.

It is a normal buyer uploading their own work using the button at the top of the site, nothing strange

For the record, I was no suggesting there was anything strange, wrong, improper or anything at all like that going on. I was just curious and I figured there was a reasonable explanation, which there is and now we know.

Like I said above, somethings I just like to know something for the sake of knowing, knowing full well that once I have the answer it would be totally useless information. :-)
