Quote This Image!

If you can think of a funny quote for this image, I'd love to hear it! It's part of a new series of blocky images I'm doing.

I thought it would be obvious he's struggling to eat the cookies.... see how he's sweating? Maybe a quote about him wanting arms or something. lol I dunno.. Dave, yours was no worse than what I can come up with.. and ...the Digital doesn't own the rights to a tongue sticking out.

The tongue is a The Digital effect. Just sayin'

John, what's the concept behind the blocks? Tell us more about them, who are they?

"Without limbs" could preface or be inserted in most of the sentences although you may not want to use it, less may be more.

It was worse than being a Square Pants! As a plain square he couldn't grab, instead of a crabby sandwich - Santa's cookies!!

Plain squares have a hard time enjoying themselves!

Santa desperately wanted to eat his cookies but being just a plain square he couldn't!

Let's face it squares (blockheads) just can't do a lot of things!

Let's face it blockheads are limited in their abilities!

It's like being on a desert island without food or water - you just starve!

It's like being on a desert island without food or water - you may as well starve!

It was a sad situation, all the good things Santa did for others and he couldn't enjoy his own cookies!

Even Santa was limited in what he could enjoy!

Being a square (cube) cut Santa out of Christmas! He couldn't even enjoy his own cookies much less drive the sleigh!

Even Santa found it limiting to be a cube (square).

Even Santa found it limiting in what he could do!

Simple acts become impossible!

Santa Squared = 0 cookies.

Could it be that Santa's already had too many cookies? He doesn't want to disappoint a child by not eating these cookies, but he's already stuffed, sweating, his tongue hanging out at the thought of trying to force down even one more. That was the thought that popped into my head when I saw this image -- not that he was trying hard to get the cookie, but that he was sweating at the thought of having to.

Too. Many. Cookies!

Suzanne, the concept of the series is comedy and who they are should be pretty obvious, this one is Santa. lol

Thank you all for your suggestions but I think I'm going to change the imagery a bit. Too many "The Digital" comments, the last thing I want to do is put a quote on a piece of my art that references someone else's work. This is an original concept and the tongue hanging out is an important aspect to the comedy. It would be there regardless if someone else drew a tongue hanging out or not. His tongues are less defined and mine is a clear and sharp rectangle with a shadow, they look nothing alike and the only thing in common is that it's sticking out. Not a fair comparison IMO.

John, don't take for granted that others can understand a concept you may have been thinking about for some time. It may be humor but others may not know what you have drawn and what meaning you have in mind even though it may seem obvious to you. It would be nice if you thanked people for taking time out of their busy schedule to help you with you dilemma whether you agreed with their ideas or not.

Something in his expression says to me that he's had too many cookies and doesn't want those. I think it's in the mouth or the eyebrow position.

That could work though, as Santa does eat a LOT of cookies on Christmas Eve. Maybe call it "Chocolate Chip Again!?"

John Wills

Suzanne, I thanked everyone in my last post, I think you may have missed that part. ;) I simply answered your questions as to what it's about and who they are.

Like that one Cynthia! lolz

Dave, a diet not by choice! He has no arms and is trying to use his tongue to reach the cookie, hence the tongue sticking out because it's the only thing he has to touch the outside world. :)

To me, the fact that I had to explain it means it failed in it's intention, so I thank you all for your suggestions, but I have to rethink the imagery now. I'll give Suzanne a chance to reply but after that I'm closing the thread.

Thanks for all that made suggestions, much appreciated.

Santa's demise - boxing day...

This image reminds me of an old joke...there was this head...just a head...opening presents on Christmas morning....after the third box, the head uttered, "Oh how wonderful another hat."

Nice poem TL.. lol

Ok thanks for all your suggestions and the thought you put into them. I'm not sure which one I'll use, but there were several suggestions I can either expand upon or use verbatim. Going to have to close the thread because I have a metric ton of other work that needs my attention and I have a good enough idea of where to take this image. Thanks again all, very much appreciated. Have a great day. :)
