I am impressed w/ the great photos showing up on this thread! Here's one I uploaded tonight. It's a rather timeless picture, a moment caught unaware. This waterfall is at a botanic garden.

I went for a little different look with this image. Perfect for a child's room or a lover of medieval tales, this dragon is perhaps stalking something that we can't see. Or maybe going for a stroll. Whichever, the viewer is peering through a hole in the ivy and is unnoticed by the fantastical creature.

Coneflowers, or echinacea, are colorful perennials that attract butterflies and birds to your yard or garden. They are available in shades of orange, yellow, purple, pink, and of course the beautiful white colored ones. These daisy-like flowers have a puffy central head that protrudes upward as the petals fold back.

Vermont and the Fall Foliage of New England (specifically Vermont) is the order of the day for me. Thousands of people are hitting my website looking for where they can find the New England fall foliage... :-) My favorite time of year...

It is Autumn - a time when I start to set aside my street photography and hit the road. I LOVE the Blue Ridge Parkway (all 469 miles of it) and have driven end-to-end 3 times. I also love waterfalls and we have a LOT of them in North Carolina. The rains from Hurricane Joaquin made them flow great. And that is what this batch of photos is about. All are photos, just some have been treated more than others.

If the conditions allow for it, I love to immerse myself in finding minimalistic scenes in nature. Recently experienced such conditions. Tranquil waters, a couple of willing subjects (autumn leaves) and wonderful late day hues in the sky that reflected beautifully off the calm waters

This is a photo I took in South Africa of the Sabie bridge. My spouse and I were excited to see a very large group of elephants walking through. They are likely all female.

We have been doing a bit of touring around our area to start getting some new autumn images, some from a local lake...
Of course we also have to show off our hometown stomping grounds from the coast in Southeast Florida too! We are blessed to have the best of both worlds!!

Escape Of The Carousel Horses

2D composite image of carousel horses appearing to have escaped onto the free range. Many textures, and manual manipulations were incorporated to achieve the effect. An oil painting effect was also added to the surface. The original carousel wooden horses were photographed at Rash Field in Baltimore's Inner Harbor...

During the 1930s, one of our country's last great train stations was built in Cincinnati, Ohio. It quickly became a major transportation hub shortly after the beginning of World War II, as military personnel rode trains from one base to another, or returned home to see their families before being deployed overseas. After the war years, travel by cars and airplanes replaced the need for passenger trains. As the years passed, this beautiful, art deco style icon fell into dis-repair and was almost torn down. City officials wisely decided to take control of the building and today it is the ... Cincinnati Museum Center.

I love the rain, I love ships, and I love the mood in this image. The rain is beading on the hand railing as a lone person watches the ship sail away. What thoughts are drifting through this person's mind? Who is leaving on that large ship?

I've often watched a ship leave from the harbor, imagining that a loved one of my own was leaving. Maybe to never return....

This urban Halloween decoration was originally only the pumpkin on the steps, but I thought the cat would add additional interest. The image was taken near Federal Hill (Baltimore City), in an elite section of condos, fondly referred to as "Concrete Canyon".

The pumpkin, which was a perfect shape and size, as a decoration by itself was simplistic but attractive next to the white railing. I thought the addition of a cat would give more holiday mood to the composition. The cat was actually captured in 2014 on a porch next to discarded carved pumpkins 11 days after Halloween in Easton, Maryland.

The pumpkin is a member of the squash family, and, though it is treated like a vegetable, it is technically a fruit.
