good its not just me. i complained to them. the updates work fine, i think it scans. account shows not connected. and it keeps popping up, and its really getting annoying.

I got some pop ups this morning also. Mine is running fine.

I updated mine yesterday and it seems to be fine on my end.

Running the free avast on four machines, no problems ever. Just get the annual expired / re-subscribe popup. Other than that, no messages. And yes, it currently says "You Are Protected."

Had problems earlier this morning -- seems to be fixed now.

I'd already scheduled a move to Panda (this weekend). The 2015 Panda reviews have been pretty awesome.

Avast has worked really well, but I've got a software addiction and feel the need for change. ;-)

I rebooted.

I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. It is working great now. The thing is Avast is getting a bit more aggressive
in try to get me to sign up and be billed. Not on.

All is good, time to close this thread.

BTW I took most of today off to help my mother in her garden. My parents are now taking me out to eat
to a local Portuguese restaurant. Great great food. Highly recommended.

addition: Mike I reinstalled with a download through CNet to seem as if I was new customer.
