The social media theroy is:i follow you and you follow me. Personally, I have very few followers on facebook (i think they call it likes or friends or something stupid like that) but have develeloped most of my twitter followers through daily interaction over the past 5 years and having nothing to do with my art. But the base of twitter followers picks up once you follow others and others follow you. They follow you based on what you talk about. I guess facebook works the same way but I do not seem to have any interest in what anyone has to say talks about on facebook. I view twitter as an adult conversation (even though it is often sophmoric) and facebook as baby talk. This is just me. So the key is to try to engage with others, follow them and then they follow you. Ill stick with doing that on twitter but I have no patience doing it on facebook.
Interesting enough, I have about 2 dozens "friends" on facebook...I know them all very well and would know them if I met stumbled upon them in a bar.....mostly either family or college friends. On twitter, I have 500 followers/friends and I know none of them at all, not what they look like, what there real name is or anything.....
They are two different animals...... Just my two cents.
