Pdf Sales Sheets.....did You Know?

I'm getting ready for a Wine and Art Event next weekend. My first! I'm so excited. But....

I printed out many of the available pdf 'sales sheets' for my images to have in a binder that customers could look at if they are interested. I loved that the sizes and prices were listed for some of the products (of course, I'd like to be able to choose which products, but ok).
I spend a long time printing them out in full color, putting them in protective sheets and making a beautiful book.

Then, I noticed a problem. The prices listed are MY COST. Not what the products would cost if someone went to my sight and bought a product! So now, I'm faced with trying to explain that those prices 'aren't real' or reprinting all of them (expense and time be damned) or not having the binder at my event.

So, yes this is kind of a rant, but really, has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks
Jennifer Kohler

Yeah, that's how I figured it out. Of course, that was after I printed all of them. Grrrrrr.....cuss, cuss, cuss!

its a feature on this site that i wish did not exist unless i wanted it to be there. the price for the customers and such should always be listed. unless i want to buy my own work, then i should see the discount. its really confusing when i want to quote a price to someone, or even that pdf sheet. it should not be my prices, and in the case of the pdf, i should list ALL prices, it stops at i think 48"

I do not use those PDF sheets. Never have found a good use for them.

Do your own and put the information on the that you want. And you can get several images on a page instead of just one.

Takes a little time to lay one out but once you get the template, all you have to do is put the image and title in and that template is good for ever.
It is especially easy if you own PageMaker or other publishing software. But you can do it in Word as well.

Here's another idea.

Buy the two sided photo paper, 8 1/2 x 11 and you can print back to back. Go to a stationary store and buy any one of several "binding" methods they sell. Presto! You have your own book of high resolution images. Make sure you use a binding method that allows the pages to swing freely and lay flat when opened. Make sure you print a little right of center so there is room to punch that binder.

Do and index and a price page so the image pages only have the image and the title.

Of course you are not going to hand these out. You are going have it there for people to browse through.

I think it's just a relic of earlier times where relatively few programs made PDFs themselves and it was simpler to have the site generate them.

I really like the idea of printing the image alone. Kind of like a proof set. A separate pricing page makes sense as it's the only thing that needs updating. And doing a proof set will allow for additions over time, or taking out images.

Thanks for the ideas. Now I just hope something that I have to offer sells!
