About Collections

You can tell me someone like collections work?

http://fineartamerica.com/collections/all/all/all

As work is to include in existing collections?
Coleccón as a personal matter created?

I have long been trying to figure out the operation, but I have not achieved anything.

Collections are selected by the FAA staff.

Thanks you Jessica. Yes, it's clear that, in other threads I've seen. But I wonder what criteria followed to choose some images and not others, who are apparently better.

FAA makes the choices and they are not going to tell you how they are decided. People that are in the collections have reported that is no big instant route to success.

This has been discussed in dozens of threads. Same results. FAA makes the selection and they are not saying how.

What Floyd said....

Edit to add, I am not in a single collection that I know of and yet, I sell rather well.

While you are here though

You need to add NSFW filters to many of your images.

I think we do not understand. I'm not a Disney site and have two university degrees that make me familiar with the universal art. The British Museum has one of my papers and several cultural associations of Barcelona also well get organized an average of two exhibitions per year. You can know what happens? This makes me think that there is censorship.

JC Findley.- Few pictures with filters NSFW there in the galleries? 100? Any? or it is that the galleries are only a few who are nothing annoying. Not all want to paint flowers or pets. Some people we are committed to our time and prefer other more humanistic expression.

Yes I guess you would be correct in using that term. Not the word I would use. But I guess it is technically correct.

But in all that fancy education, did you learn anything about the rights of a private business to decide for themselves how they want to run their own business?

What class was it that you took that says you are guaranteed to be given permission to hang or show your work anywhere and everywhere and how ever you want?

You have been here 5 years and just figuring out this is not a democracy but private owned and operated business?

Joaquin, this may be a language translation thing, I think you may have misunderstood JC's comment. He isn't saying there is anything wrong with your images, just that some of the works you have with frontal nudity etc may need to have the box checked 'no' instead of 'yes' in the box that refers to 'Work Safe Viewing' when you upload your images. You can go back and edit them and check the box. Or ask JC or Abbie which ones may need that if you are unsure. There is more explanation why this is needed in that box when you upload images.
You have some very interesting and creative work! Very nice :o)

An image may not have marked the box, but it's just a mistake on my part, but I think all frontal nudity have enabled censorship.
Anyway I'm going to look back again. Thank you Melissa.
I translate with Google and sometimes does not say exactly what I mean.

Yes, translate programs definitely do that sometimes!

Love your choice for your profile picture (avatar)

I teach in this photo, the stripes of my two hands, which are very rare and very few people have a single line from side to side. Thanks you Melissa.

Melissa voiced quite eloquently what I meant.

If one were to look at my favorites one would find more than a few artistic nudes but I don't think there is a flower in there.

the collections are set up by how popular a subject is, if you have that subject, if the staff likes your work and if you sell well. i think i'm in 3-4 of them. but... i really consider the collections more of a dead end for the site and not a big help. they won't help you sell, especially after a buyer learns that there is a limited selection of things in there. once they know that, they will ignore the collections whether your in them or not.

best to simply market off the site. the site, buyers etc, probably don't care about the artists achievements anyway.

i do have a few suggestions though for your bio:

1. you mention the watermark - but nothing is watermarked.
2. you threaten the buyers by telling them not to steal your work. that is not needed, and i'd probably just go to another store if i saw that.

Mike Savad, I deeply appreciate your answer. I will try to make a more correct translation of my biography with the two changes that you suggest me. You are right.
On the other hand, appear in the collections are not for the purpose of selling, it is for the public to know that I exist. If you want to buy or not does not bother me that I need not sell to live. I'm a graphic designer and I work hard, but my passion has always been the art.
You have a lot of success and I am convinced that you earned by yourself, that you do a job that is not like the others and that you have a good reason to treat the public know.
Thank you very much for your help.

the collections are rather confusing to use, so i doubt anyone will see you there. to be known you have to market yourself everywhere. just get your name everywhere. keep the style consistent and again just try to be everywhere.

Mike Savad. This you say is very good, but to be everywhere need a time that I have.
I changed my profile as you've shown me, which I really appreciate.
I'll try to be everywhere, but not if I know how to do that.
I need more time to make drawings and paintings. I have so many ideas, I do not think you can develop them all.
Thank you.

you don't do it all at once. you just pepper it here and there. get into a blog some place. be on different sites. i always sign my name and url when i sign things. its the last thing people see when they read something and it also helps spread your links. add the url to your email, add it to sig lines on news groups and talk there as well, stuff like that. i create a few things each week and upload, usually 4 at a time. i send them out to different sites and advertise them. good work advertises itself. fans will send links of your work out, and it spreads like that. but it may take years to get noticed.

Take careful note of all you say. Interestingly, these only give your advice.
There are things that seem so obvious, but while few have thought of them. They are simple and very smart disciplined behavior. Thanks again and I have to do everything you tell me.
