Popsugar And Flip And Flop

I received an interesting marketing email. I am wondering if anyone else here got the same email.
I do not think it was through the FAA mail system. The email addressed my website, not my AW.

The email was from a small marketing firm out of the UK. It is legit. No scam on Google. The email was
a good length. Basically the firm wants to use articles from the shows' stars to link the shows through my website.
I get something reciprocating. And I get new content. Possibly I would set up a page for these articles.

I wrote back to find out more.

Thoughts?

New content in other words duplicate content that will be discounted by Google?

Ed,

Interesting take. But the company's FB fan page only has 9 likes.

The deal is not mass distributed. They offered a new article first. I do not fully like
the topics they first offered. They want to write fresh new topics offered a list of possibilities.
So I want to see what is in the archives. We could retitle the older
article thinking along your lines.

Ed,

You have me wondering if the articles will be ads for the shows which would be good with me....

or if the articles will be ads for what is in the articles? I need to find out.

One topic for instance was on how to organize a closet. Would the closet organizer by the focus or the show?

I could careless about a closet organizer.

That is why I wanted to have them fish in the archives to better fit my website for commercial artwork.

I will see what they come up with.

Just out of curiosity, because the title sounds more like a Saturday morning cartoon instead of a business firm to me, I typed-in "Popsugar and Flip and Flop" in the browser. This is what came up under that full title:

(copy the entire link and paste it in browser)

Greg,

I barely watch the flip flop show, but the two shows are very very popular. I do not have a TV here in the condo.

The flip flop show is on HGTV. Popsugar might be on a fashion channel. Audiences are very tuned in to both shows.

I'd file it in the recycling bin and move on. But that's just me.

Ed,

I thought about that. We are middle aged folks. Most of us.

The internet is changing. I am seeing companies pop up to fill new voids in the business world.

Some will be bigger than others.

Most of our efforts are online. We will constantly need to know more about these popup companies.

This is legit as I am saying, but that does not mean it will fulfill my advertising needs. I am finding out more from them.

Ed,

I reread the email. It took me a few reads to get it.

The idea is to link an interior designer, their client, from my site to the client's site.

I just wrote them to find out who the client is. It is that simple.

If it is a great fit I will ask for a similar linking of my site. If it is not a fit oh well nothing lost.

Addition as I look this over again...I do not like their ethics. Too much of a bait and nothing in it for me.
