Questions About The Hits I Am Receiving

Hi everyone. I am relatively new to FAA, started a site about two weeks ago. Got about 300 hits in the first 3 days, then it started to wane, so I paid the 30.00 for a membership, and I am getting more hits, but MUCH more slowly than in the first few days. But something I have noticed that is very curious, so I wanted to ask for others who have experienced this:

Someone from Wilmington Delaware gets on my site and looks at ONE piece every four hours or so, for the last WEEK. Wilmington Delaware is but one tiny spec in the entire world, yet 90% of my hits come from there now, and why only ONE piece looked at every four hours? And they rotate...rarely the same piece twice. They go through my whole portfolio, one piece at a time, over the course of days, and then it starts over again. IS this possibly computer generated somehow to give me a sense that the $30. fee was worth it? Has anyone else noticed this? Thanks!

if your waiting for hits to come, they won't. if you get many hits from one place, they are bots, they don't buy. ignore that part.

the $30 gives you a private webpage, unlimited uploads.. . you have to do the work and send people here and market. the site can't. it would be impossible. these views are not computer generated, and you only got lucky because people that don't advertise don't get views at all. this new bot is rather aggressive.

Thank you Brian MacLean, That's what I thought was going on. Not much experience with computers, but I had the right idea going on in my head. Disappointed, but not surprised....

Yes, those hits are certainly computer generated but not by the folks at FAA. The are usually Indexing Bots used to feed some search engines - some of which are good and some possibly not so good. Mike is correct, we need to generate our own traffic. There is a large number of visitors that come to FAA from the search engines but they are shown millions of pieces of art. We need to generate interest in what it is that we do - and send or bring those visitors to our own ArtistWebsites - so they see our individual work only. "That" is a big advantage of paying the meager subscription fee.

Forget the "hits" and/or views, they are totally meaningless here.

Read the info below and you will learn why. Pay close attention to the 25/75 rule. Worry about getting more images and doing more advertising OUTSIDE of FAA. The hits/view that count are a product of your advertising. There is no correlation between hits and sales. My best selling images are not anywhere near the top of my views list, in fact in many cases they are much closer to the bottom.

Best of luck to you!
