Have You Noticed The New Feature On Twitter?

I just now noticed we can now view our tweet activity. It's located next to the favorites star and looks like a bar graph. The info shows the number of impressions and breaks down the engagements. I think I'm going to find this very useful.

I agree, Suzanne. And it's a reminder of how much work I have to do to promote myself!

I get it on my personal account but not on my photo account. Not sure why

Hmm, maybe I'm getting the business account mixed up with Pinterest. I keep getting emails from all the SM sites I'm on and a few have mentioned a business account.

I don't see it either ...

I've had that for quite awhile. At least, I think I'm seeing what you're talking about. It's on individual tweets, not your main page. At least, mine is.

Carolyn Marshall

You're right, Lois. I see it on the individual tweets.

Thanks for pointing this out. I tend to be the last to know/notice things.

Yes have had this option for sometime now. It is a graph icon on the lower right of tweets.

Here's how to find it... :-)

Thanks for posting that link, Becky. I didn't even know twitter had analytics. My numbers are not good...everything is down by 50%-75% over the past month. I find it so hard to keep up with the SM stuff, I'm just not "into it" :/

I have been using it for over three months now. It is a spot check on images. Clicks etc.

It is exacting. Impressions means it is on so many feeds, does not mean it was seen.

Then there are all the different forms of engagement. Including clicks on the link.

One of the RTs was a key client of mine going forward. I was emailed that he RT'd and I DM'd him immediately. He very
graciously got back to me.

Has anyone used Twitter Cards? https://dev.twitter.com/cards/overview

SharaLee Art

Judy, I'd consider using it if I had something worthwhile to tweet about. I'm curious, also, if anyone is using it.

Have not noticed this, thanks for posting Sharon! :-)

Judy,

I began to set up for Twitter Cards, but as an artist the card is stagnant. I want to be known for my avatar, but
not for just one work of art.

I happened to be mass following folks on Twitter at that time and my account got suspended. I was not set
up by Twitter with a card at that time while it was in processing. I did not return to the process when my account
was unsuspended. I do not like the stagnant card idea. It is an image, some copy etc.

I have no idea when it shows up for your followers. And I believe you can make multiple cards, but it is a lot of extra effort. There
is a review process so it is time delayed.

I am not sure, but on one account if you make a second card your first card might be done away with. Or at best set aside as you
use only one card at a time possibly.

As I said it is messy. The idea is the card for say a singular product is a better introduction to the website in the background.
Links are much better done with the card.

It says I have to add meta tags to my site..Im not sure we have that capability on our artist website with faa..do we?

SharaLee Art

Robert...the meta description, meta tags should already by built into the coding. It's grabbing the first 150 characters or so from our sidebar bio as the meta description, so make sure that's relevant. I'm not quite sure where the code is pulling the keywords from, maybe the same as the description. Here's the code I pulled: meta name="keywords" content=""

Good bit of info. But I've lost faith in Twitter, I've been on it since 2011, have about 500 followers, and have almost 600 tweets. I don't recall ever seeing any traffic to my website from it. I even paid for twitter ads for about a year without any results. I wonder if twits only read the tweets for news and are not so much into picking links from it. FWIW, aside from a few stray Bing traffic and even a sprinkle of AOL traffic, the only traffic my site ever gets is from Google searches. -W

Wings, the above feature will show you if you have any click throughs. I don't have much luck with twitter either. Actually, I'd rather get a tooth pulled than tweet, but I've been forcing myself to do it the past few days along with google+ and setting up a FB page. I feel like I'm talking to myself, but I have noticed that I'm now getting visits from google's bot, which is what I was aiming for.

The only indirect return I think I'm getting is having my wingsdomain name reinforced by Twitter and other social media sites that I post on, I'm pretty sure google eats it up, so there is still some return for the efforts. All things web are intertwined and feeds on itself to grow your name and brand. -W

Wings,

I have never paid for twitter ads. I have paid for unfollowers.com to add followers from wherever I want them.

I have 19.6k followers. I most likely got my first sale because of Twitter.

I get about 1 new follower a day - and being somewhat new here and with twitter, I only have 359 followers - i always wondererd how a totally bland tweeter page from a person that never has much to say or much of a personality could have 17K followers...I guess they pay for them? I wont pay for followers or ads..its not in my slow growth strategy

Newwwman

oh, and part of my strategy is my name - a lot of people ask about it...it comes from seinfeld..its what everyone calls me..most people I interact with day to day know me as newwwman - accounts:

Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/Newwwman

.I guess they pay for them?

Robert,

I have no idea if the bland or the much to say comments were directed at me, but...that aside.....

I never paid for followers. You misunderstood that. I paid to follow other people with some automation. They followed back freely.
They followed back only by manual means. I followed people who followed a magazine for instance in an area that I wanted followers from.
They equally wanted my content. Nothing less. You are misunderstanding that.

Dave

PS there is a follower to following ratio you need to be under if you ever get to 2000 people you follow. My ratio is less than 14k to 19.6k. People can freely go if they want to, but they choose to follow.

no dave .. not diected at you . i usually reserve my coments about others and things until i know a little more about the ,,,im not sure ive seen your twitter account,,, ill check it out later when i get to the studio... iwas refering to plian old bland sites that have 20k followers... i think they must pay for followers... never looked much into it...i get most of my followers from my tweets about current national events... stories that the main stream media wont play or take days to play .. i have some faa followers but starting to think most of them are machines.. not real people... im still figuring it all out
