Paint Shop Pro Versions

With a new laptop on the way it seems like it might be time to upgrade the editing software which has always been Paint Shop Pro, X4, I think.

For anyone who uses PSP, is the newest version the one to get (8 or 8 ultimate) or is 7 at half the price just fine?

There's also 7 with some topaz programs for the same price as 8 which could be the way to go?

Any other suggestions for starting out fresh aside from photoshop and Lightroom?

Already have both of those but never use them since psp is so fast and easy.

hi adam because your upgrading from pro 4 which i used and enjoyed some nice features except there cropping,i would say 6 pro but seeing there the same price on amazon 7 pro may be your better choice... pro 8 is 79.99 on the corel site

I'm still using X5. It works but isn't terribly stable. I would have liked to upgrade to 8 when they sent me an email deal a few weeks ago but decided money was too tight right then. I guess I'll limp along with X5 until I can afford to upgrade. I don't use it as much as I used to since I bought Lightroom5. But it is good for when you want to do specific selections, layers and things like that.

Top of the line Photo Shop.

Still the standard in the industry.
