America Designs - Pixels.com

hi,

As Pixels.com sells our works on tshirts and other items, I decided to open a sub-gallery called AMERICA DESIGNS, which is steadily growing - take a look:

Interesting that you name your gallery America Fine Art? This gallery is also on FAA but it won't offer clothing on FAA.

It is getting more and more clear to me that a trick to get people to search on Google for you will not work.

You have to go out there and contact your potential buyers.

Okay… but now you have compromised your effectiveness on FAA. You have compromised your search position and your advertising. Twice as much work and this will net fewer sales, imho.

I think people are looking at the extended products line from the wrong perspective.

This is not about prints vs t-shirts or prints vs totes or pillows or shower curtains. This is about selling images.
We are not selling fines art here. We are selling reproductions. I fail to see the difference of what that reproduction is printed on. The print buying consumer, for the most part, is not the same person that is buying fine art originals. And the for sure are not coming to FAA in any large numbers to buy originals when they do.

Too many people way over thinking this, imho.

"Too many people over thinking this, imho"

The definition of Fine Art has changed. It changed at least 25 years ago in the eyes of the general public... and probably much earlier than that.

Over thinking this comes from the perspective of over valuing what is a dime a dozen. Too many have not worked long enough in the field to have earned the right to be contemplating whether or not a shower curtain is worthy to be a manifestation of their work. It's like the cyberspace police that have it out to constantly be running around worrying about ripped off images that are being shown on some sleazy sites that have stolen their 900 x 650 pixel image and are selling it. It can be a full time job.

It's a trap of misguided definitions. I am guilty of having been nipped by it initially. A by-product of conditioning from the brick and mortar environment of Limited Edition.

Still... there can be some marketing strategy about it that can be well thought out also.

Good fortunes Peter on this new sub-gallery you have created. Still have to market the work.
